North Central Conference (Iowa)
The North Central Conference (NCC) is an eight-team high school athletic conference based in North Central Iowa. The conference's membership is 3A (Iowa's second largest classification of schools), 2A, and sometimes even 1A (Iowa's smallest classification of schools). The conference dates to 1930 and has a long tradition together and many intense rivalries. For many years, the North Central Conference was an eight-team league. Schools from Algona, Clarion, Clear Lake, Eagle Grove, Hampton, Humboldt, Iowa Falls, and Webster City competed in the conference. In the 1980s, Hampton and Clarion both began whole grade-sharing with smaller neighboring districts ( Dumont and Goldfield, respectively). The districts reorganized into Hampton–Dumont and Clarion–Goldfield, respectively. Iowa High School Athletic Association
The Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is the regulating body for male Iowa high school interscholastic athletics and is a full member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Its female counterpart, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, (IGHSAU) is an associate member. Iowa is the only state that maintains separate governing bodies for boys' and girls' athletics. Sports overseen by the IHSAA are baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and wrestling. As classifications vary highly across sports, they are included under the individual sport section. Iowa Falls Community School District
Iowa Falls Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The district occupies sections of Hardin and Franklin counties. In 2006, parents in the northern portion of the Hubbard–Radcliffe Community School District preferred the idea of that district grade-sharing with Iowa Falls instead of the Eldora–New Providence Community School District. From the 2014–15 school year until the 2017–18 school year, the district had entered into a grade-sharing agreement with the Alden Community School District in which students of particular grade levels attend schools in another districts' schools. Initially it was a two-way sharing agreement, or one in that both districts sent students to each other's schools. Alden hosted the 6th grade for both districts.
