Algona High School is a rural public high school located in the Algona Community School District in Algona, Iowa, United States. The Algona district serves Algona, Burt, Titonka, and Whittemore. Kossuth County () is a county in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,828. The county seat is Algona. History Kossuth County was founded on January 15, 1851. It was named after Lajos Kossuth, Regent-President of Hungary who went into exile to America following the war of independence of Hungary from the Habsburg Dynasty. The county was enlarged northward in 1857 by the inclusion of the former Bancroft County. Crocker County was another county created out of the same area of Kossuth County as Bancroft County but was reverted due to not being larger than 432 square miles. Corwith–Wesley–Lu Verne High School was a senior high school in Corwith, Iowa, It was operated by the Corwith–Wesley Community School District in association with the Lu Verne Community School District. The Corwith–Wesley district served the towns of Corwith and Wesley, while the Lu Verne district served the town of Lu Verne. History In 1984, Corwith–Wesley established a grade-sharing arrangement, in which it operated Corwith–Wesley–Lu Verne High, with the Lu Verne Community district sending its secondary students there. This continued for the remainder of the Corwith–Wesley district's existence. The school closed when the Corwith–Wesley district was dissolved in 2015.
