North Carolina State Fair Station
North Carolina State Fair station is a seasonal Amtrak station serving the North Carolina State Fairground in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is served by Amtrak's '' Carolinian'' and ''Piedmont'' trains when the fair is in operation in mid-October. The station waiting area is a covered tent on the west corner of Blue Ridge Road and south corner of Hillsborough Street. Tickets are sold online, at an Amtrak staffed station, by mobile app or by paying cash to the conductor if seats are available. Aberdeen Subdivision (North Carolina)
The Aberdeen Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in North Carolina. The line runs along CSX's S Line from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Marston, North Carolina, for a total of 86.9 miles. At its north end it continues south from the Norlina Subdivision and at its south end it continues south as the Hamlet Terminal Subdivision. The Aberdeen Subdivision hosts both CSX freight trains and Amtrak passenger trains. The line has passenger stations in Southern Pines and Cary. North Carolina Railroad
The North Carolina Railroad is a state-owned rail corridor extending from Morehead City, North Carolina to Charlotte, North Carolina. The ''Carolinian'' is a daily passenger train that runs between Charlotte, North Carolina and New York City. The train began operation in 1990 and is jointly funded and operated by Amtrak and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). The train operates over the Northeast Corridor between New York and Washington, D.C. Intermediate stops in North Carolina include Rocky Mount, Wilson, Selma, Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury, and Kannapolis.
