The North American Soccer League operated from 2011 to 2017 and presented several awards for individual performance at the end of each season. Best XI The Best XI is awarded to the eleven players considered to have been the best in their respective positions. Golden Ball Award The Golden Ball is the league MVP award. Golden Boot Award The Golden Boot is the league's leading scorer. Golden Glove Award The Golden Glove is the league's goalkeeper of the year award. Coach of the Year Award The Coach of the Year award was initiated in 2011 with an independent panel. In 2012 the NASL adopted it as an official award. Fair Play Award Awarded to the team with the lowest point total from Yellow and Red cards throughout the season. North American Soccer League (2011–2017)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was a professional men's soccer league based in the United States. The league was named for, but had no connection to, the original North American Soccer League. The later NASL was founded in 2009, and began play in 2011 with eight teams. From 2013 through 2017, the NASL used a split-season schedule running from April to early November, with a four-week break in July. The spring and fall champions, along with the two teams with best combined spring/fall records met in a four-team single-elimination tournament known as ''The Championship''. The winner of the final claimed the Soccer Bowl trophy. While there was no promotion and relegation with other leagues, former commissioner Bill Peterson repeatedly stated that the league had an interest in introducing promotion and relegation to the pyramid. Juan Arango
Juan Fernando Arango Sáenz (born 16 May 1980) is a Venezuelan former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He spent the better part of his professional career in La Liga with Mallorca, appearing in 196 official games, and also played several years with Borussia Mönchengladbach for which he signed at the age of 29. Arango was Venezuela's record holder in international caps and goals for several years, scoring 22 times in 129 matches between 1999 and 2015. Ottawa Fury Football Club was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Ottawa, Ontario. The club competed in the North American Soccer League and USL Championship and played its home games at TD Place Stadium. The Ottawa Fury FC were dissolved as a soccer club on November 8, 2019 and their USL franchise rights were sold to Miami FC on December 11, 2019. Romuald Peiser
Romuald Désiré Peiser (born 3 August 1979) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He currently serves as the goalkeeper coach for CF Montreal of the MLS. Football career Peiser was born in Phalsbourg, Moselle. After unsuccessfully emerging through Paris Saint-Germain FC's youth system – only appeared for the reserves – he played in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen II and KFC Uerdingen, both in the lower leagues; subsequently, he spent one season in the Swiss Challenge League with FC Vaduz. FC Edmonton was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club was founded in 2010 and competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 2011 to 2017. Kyle Patrick Reynish (born November 3, 1983) is a former American soccer goalkeeper. Playing career Youth and college Reynish attended Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California where he had a 0.84 career goals against average, as well as setting the school's single-season (14) and career (38) shutout records. He played college soccer for the University of California Santa Barbara from 2002–2006, sitting out between his freshman and sophomore seasons as a redshirt in the 2003 season. Daryl Sattler (born September 5, 1980 in Miami, Florida) is an American soccer player. Career College Sattler played college soccer at Western Kentucky University where he started in the net all four years. He currently holds the WKU school record for career shutouts with 19.5, served as team captain and was named team MVP in 2002 and 2003, was named to the Missouri Valley Conference the MVC All-Freshman Team and to the All-Tournament Second Team in as a senior in 2003. Early life and education Born in Santa Ana, California, Ramirez attended La Quinta High School in Westminster, California near his hometown of Garden Grove where he played center midfield and forward.
