Norsk Rikstoto
The Norsk Rikstoto (lit. 'Norwegian National Tote') is a foundation that supervises parimutuel betting on animal racing in Norway. It was established on 24 September 1982 by the Norwegian Trotting Association and the Norwegian Jockey Club to run a tote board, totalizator game named V6. Norsk Tipping administered most such games until 1993, when Norsk Rikstoto took over. In 1996 the foundation received responsibility, financial and administrative, for all such games. It also runs the television channel Rikstoto Direkte. Animal racing in Norway is limited to Horse racing, equine racing; there are eleven tracks for harness racing and one track, Øvrevoll Galoppbane, for Horse gait#Gallop, gallop. The state provides a legal framework, but claims 3.7% of Norsk Rikstoto's gross annual turnover in fees. Chairman of the board is Silvija Seres, and CEO is Camilla Garmann. Øvrevoll Galoppbane
Øvrevoll Galoppbane is the only gallop racecourse in Norway It is located at Øvrevoll between Østerås (west), Jar (south) and Eiksmarka (north) in Bærum. It has both a turf track and an all-weather track. It was officially opened in 1932 by King Haakon VII and Queen Maud. The biggest event of the year is the Derby Day, one Sunday at the end of August every year. Øvrevoll Galoppbane has a grandstand with a restaurant, as well as the Stallkroen Restaurant on the north side of the track. Sherryhaugen Café has a good view of the paddock. In the late 1980s there were plans to build a hotel and a shopping mall near the circuit, to generate more traffic at the racecourse. This was rejected by local authorities. There were talks about moving the entire racecourse to rural Lier in protest, but this did not happen, partly because Norsk Rikstoto did not have finances to back it up. Oslo

Bjerke is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. Harness racing is a form of horse racing in which the horses race at a specific gait (a trot or a pace). They usually pull a two-wheeled cart called a sulky, or spider, or chariot occupied by a driver. Parimutuel betting or pool betting is a betting system in which all bets of a particular type are placed together in a pool; taxes and the "house-take" or "vigorish" are deducted, and payoff odds are calculated by sharing the pool among all winning bets.
