Eilert Adelsteen Normann (1 May 1848 – 26 December 1918) was a Norwegian painter who worked in Berlin. He was a noted painter of landscapes of Norway. Normann was the artist who invited Edvard Munch to Berlin, where he painted ''The Scream''. Normann's fjord paintings are credited with making the Norwegian fjords a more popular tourist destination. Biography Normann was born in 1848 in Bodin in Norway. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1869 to 1872 and his paintings belong to the Düsseldorf school of painting. Emil Normann
Emil Wilhelm Normann (18 December 1798 – 21 June 1881) was a Danish painter and naval officer. Biography Normann, who initially developed his painting abilities through his own resources, became a student in Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg's private school in 1825. Despite numerous interruptions including two voyages to the West Indies in 1823 and 1830, Normann and Eckersberg kept in touch. Indeed, it was Normann's corvette that Eckersberg painted in 1827 and in 1834, as they were sailing around Zealand on the maiden voyage of the " Dronning Marie", the two went off in a rowing boat to paint the vessel in the Great Belt. Normann continued to study marine painting as a component of his education as an officer, learning to distinguish between the manoevres of the various types of ship. Biography Normann received his MBA and then PhD in Business Economics in 1975 at Lund University, leading to a professorship. He was soon working at management consultancy Scandinavian Institutes of Administrative Research (SIAR) and was its president from 1976 to 1980. Sigurd Johan Normann (1879—1939) was a Norwegian theologian and bishop of the Church of Norway. He was the Bishop for the Diocese of Hålogaland from 1937 until his death in 1939. Normann was born in 1879 in Hamarøy, Norway. He received his cand.theol. degree in 1909 from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo. He received his Doctor of Theology degree in 1935. He worked as a priest at the Johannes Church in Oslo from 1911 until 1918. From 1918 until 1937, he was the priest for the Grønland Church in Oslo. Wilhelm Normann (16 January 1870, in Petershagen – 1 May 1939, in Chemnitz) (sometimes also spelled ''Norman'') was a German chemist who introduced the hydrogenation of fats in 1901, creating what later became known as trans fats. This invention, protected by German patent 141,029 in 1902, had a profound influence on the production of margarine and vegetable shortening. Early life and education His father, Julius Normann, was the principal of the elementary school and '' Selekta'' in Petershagen. His mother was Luise Normann, née Siveke. Normann ("The Norminator") Stadler (born February 25, 1973 in Wertheim am Main, Wertheim) is a retired professional triathlon, triathlete from Germany. He is the winner of the 2004 and 2006 Ironman World Championship, Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii.
