Norman Xiong
Norman Xiong (born November 9, 1998) is an American professional golfer. Early life Xiong was born in Guam to Chinese parents. He moved to San Diego, California when he was six with his mother, Jing, and uncle, James Xiong. He participated in the Pro Kids , First Tee Program in San Diego. His uncle served as his golf coach from an early age. Amateur career Xiong attended Temescal Canyon High School in Lake Elsinore, California. While in high school he won the Junior world championship, the Junior PGA Championship, was a first-team American Junior Golf Association All-American, and was the top junior golf prospect in California. He left high school early to attend Oregon beginning in January 2017. In his first semester he won the Phil Mickelson Award as the nation's top freshman. Walker Cup
The Walker Cup is a golf trophy contested in odd-numbered years by leading male amateur golfers in two teams: United States, and Great Britain and Ireland. The official name is the Walker Cup Match (not "Matches" as in Ryder Cup Matches). It is organised by The R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA). In 1921 the Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosted an unofficial contest which was followed by official annual contests from 1922 through 1924. From 1925 they became biennial, held on even-number years. After World War II they switched to odd-numbered years. They are held alternately in the U.S., and Ireland or Britain. The cup is named after George Herbert Walker who was president of the USGA in 1920 when the match was initiated. Walker is the grandfather and namesake of George H. W. 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup
The 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from June 9–11, 2017 at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, United States. The 21st playing of the event, it was the first since the death of namesake Arnold Palmer. The score was level at 5 points each after the first day but the United States team won 9 of the 10 singles matches on the second day and halved the other. This gave them an overwhelming lead, needing just 1 point from 10 singles matches on the final day to win the match. The second set of singles was split 5–5, to give the United States a comfortable 19½–10½ victory in the match. Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2023 event will be held from June 10 to 12 at Laurel Valley Golf Club, near Ligonier, Pennsylvania. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. From 1997 until 2002 the United States played Great Britain & Ireland while from 2003 to 2017 the United States played a European team. Junior Ryder Cup
The Junior Ryder Cup is a team golf competition between Europe and the United States for junior golfers aged 18 and under. It is based on the men's Ryder Cup and is run by the same organisations, the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe. The 2018 event took place at Golf Disneyland, Marne-la-Vallée, Paris, France on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 September. The United States won 12–11, their sixth successive victory in the event. Format The teams consist of six boys and six girls. From 2008 to 2018 the tournament was played over two days of foursomes, fourball and singles matches. There were three boys' matches and three girls' foursomes matches and six mixed fourball matches on the first day. Curtis Luck
Curtis Luck (born 9 August 1996) is an Australian professional golfer from Cottesloe, Western Australia. In March 2017 he became the number one ranked amateur golfer in the world, heading the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He held that ranking before turning professional in April. Golf career Luck was runner-up at the 2014 Australian Amateur. He also won the 2016 Western Australian Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia. Luck won the 2016 U.S. Amateur. He had previously planned to turn professional in October 2016, but decided to wait in order to retain his invitations in the 2017 Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship. The 2023 Korn Ferry Tour is the 33rd season of the Korn Ferry Tour, the official development tour to the PGA Tour. Changes for 2023 Unlike in previous seasons, the Finals will not have a separate points list; the top 30 point earners through the entire season, including the Finals, will earn PGA Tour cards. A rule change announced in December 2022 allows for Korn Ferry Tour members that qualify for the U.S. Open, then make the 36-hole cut, to earn Korn Ferry Tour points equivalent to FedEx Cup points earned for their finish. Kevin Roy (golfer)
Kevin Roy (born May 20, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League (AHL). Roy was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the 4th round (97th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He played with the NCAA Men's Division I Northeastern Huskies in the Hockey East conference from 2012 to 2016.
