The Nordic Children's Book Prize (Danish: Nordisk Skolebibliotekarforenings Børnebogspris also called Nordisk Børnebogspris) is a children's literary prize which was established in 1985 by the Nordic Association of School Librarians (Nordisk Skolebibliotekarforening). Nordic Council Children And Young People's Literature Prize
The Nordic Council Children and Young People's Literature Prize is awarded for a work of children's or young adult literature written in one of the languages of the Nordic countries. It was established by the Nordic Council in 2012 after an initiative by ministers of culture in the Nordic countries. The prize was first awarded on 30 October 2013. In each of the Nordic countries, there is a national adjudication committee which chooses nominations. The committee's members are selected by the Nordic Council of Ministers and each member must be an expert in their country's literature as well as other Nordic literature from other countries. The councils for Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden are made up of two main members and one deputy member, and they must nominate two works each. The council for Finland contains one member and one deputy member for each of the languages Finnish and Swedish, and the council must nominate one work in each language. Gudrun ( ; non, Guðrún) or Kriemhild ( ; gmh, Kriemhilt) is the wife of Sigurd/Siegfried and a major figure in Germanic heroic legend and literature. She is believed to have her origins in Ildico, last wife of Attila the Hun, and two queens of the Merovingian dynasty, Brunhilda of Austrasia and Fredegund. In both the Continental (German) and Scandinavian traditions, Gudrun/Kriemhild is the sister of the Burgundian king Gunther/Gunnar and marries the hero Siegfried/Sigurd. Both traditions also feature a major rivalry between Gudrun and Brunhild, Gunther's wife, over their respective ranks. Torill Thorstad Hauger (22 November 1943 – 4 July 2014) was a Norwegian novelist, children's writer, non-fiction writer and illustrator. She was the author of a number of prize-winning novels with historical themes for children and teenagers. Biography Torill Thorstad Hauger was born in Oslo, Norway. She was raised in the neighborhood of Vika where she attended a school for art and crafts. She was enrolled at the University of Oslo where she studied German, ethnology, folklore and archaeology. During the period from 1966 to 1971, she worked at the University Museum of National Antiquities, History Museum. Louis Jensen
The Danish author Louis Jensen (19 July 1943 – 4 March 2021) was an innovator in the international literary trends of flash fiction, metafiction, prose poetry, and magical realism. While he published more than 90 books for both adults and children, he was best known for his children's books, which include picture books, short stories, flash fiction, creative nonfiction and novels. His work is characterized by wordplay and playful experiments in form and structure, which have led critics to draw comparisons to Borges, Calvino, Gogol, and the poetry of the Oulipo movement. His work is also rooted in the fairy tale and folk tale tradition, and is deeply influenced by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. In 1992, Jensen published the first volume of 100 stories in his "Square Story" project.
