Louis Jensen
The Danish author Louis Jensen (19 July 1943 – 4 March 2021) was an innovator in the international literary trends of flash fiction, metafiction, prose poetry, and magical realism. While he published more than 90 books for both adults and children, he was best known for his children's books, which include picture books, short stories, flash fiction, creative nonfiction and novels. His work is characterized by wordplay and playful experiments in form and structure, which have led critics to draw comparisons to Borges, Calvino, Gogol, and the poetry of the Oulipo movement. His work is also rooted in the fairy tale and folk tale tradition, and is deeply influenced by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. In 1992, Jensen published the first volume of 100 stories in his "Square Story" project. The Limfjord (Danish language, common Danish: ''Limfjorden'' , in north Jutlandish dialect: ''Æ Limfjord'') is a shallow part of the sea, located in Denmark where it has been regarded as a fjord ever since Viking Age, Viking times. The Ministry of Culture's children book prize from Denmark (Danish: Kulturministeriets forfatterpris for børne- og ungdomsbøger also known as Kulturministeriets Børnebogspris) is a prize, which is given in order to honor a special effort for the Danish children's and youth book of high artistic quality. The award can be given either for a single title or for a whole work of an author. Along with the honor follows DKK 30.000, which partially comes from the "''tipsmidler''" (money from "Danske spil's" gambling, in Denmark a 66,44% of the money of gambling like lottery goes to cultural work and various kind of charity. In 2011 the "tipsmidler" gave a 1,5 billion Danish kroner profit which the government ministries must give to charitable purposes. Lilian Brøgger ( Brinch; born 1950) is a Danish illustrator known for illustrating children's books. Biography Born on 27 January 1950 in Nordby on the Danish island of Fanø, Brøgger was brought up in Copenhagen where she studied at the Danish Design School from 1967 to 1972. She was the first student to graduate as an illustrator from the school. The first work with her illustrations, the 25-page book for small children, ''Der hvor Linda bor'' (The Place Where Linda Lives), was published in 1975. She has since illustrated over a hundred books. Much of her artwork is post-modern, and breaks rules of proportions.
