Nordhausen station is a railway junction in the north of the German state of Thuringia and the main station in the city of Nordhausen. It is located just south of the city centre in the valley of the Zorge. History The railway arrived in Nordhausen on 10 July 1866 with the opening of the line to Halle, which was extended on 9 July 1867 to the west to Eichenberg. In 1869 lines to Northeim and to Erfurt were added. In 1897, the narrow gauge Harz Railway was opened to Wernigerode Wernigerode () is a town in the district of Harz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Leinefelde Station
Leinefelde station is a major railway junction in the German state of Thuringia and is the most important station in Eichsfeld. It is located in the town of Leinefelde in the Thuringian municipality of Leinefelde-Worbis in the Eichsfeld district. The Halle–Kassel and Gotha–Leinefelde railways meet there and in the past the now closed Leinefelde–Wulften and Leinefelde–Treysa railways also connected with the station. Drei Annen Hohne station is a branch-off station on the Harz Railway and the Brocken Railway. History The upper station was built in 1898 by the Nordhausen-Wernigerode Railway Company after the completion of the Harz Railway and initially bore the name ''Signalfichte'', then ''Signalfichte-Hohne''. After a storm blew down the ''Signalfichte'' (a prominent "signal spruce" tree) in October 1901, the names of two hamlets in the vicinity were joined together to make the new station name. For the standard gauge railway line to Elbingerode a separate station was opened on 1 May 1907 south of the Harz Railway station and called the Lower Station (''Untere Bahnhof'').
