Norbert Schramm
Norbert Schramm (born April 7, 1960) is a German former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time European champion, a two-time World silver medalist, and a three-time German national champion. Skating career Schramm began skating at age six. He was coached by Erich Zeller at the national center in Oberstdorf, and skated for the EC Oberstdorf club representing West Germany. Amongst his team members were Rudi Cerne and Heiko Fischer. Along with three national titles, Schramm won gold twice at the European Championships and silver twice at the World Championships. He also attracted media attention for his red costumes, his choreography and spontaneous creativity on ice, as well as for creating new spins and reinventing old forgotten spins. Schramm retired from amateur competition in 1984. Spins are an element in figure skating in which the skater rotates, centered on a single point on the ice, while holding one or more body positions. They are performed by all disciplines of the sport, single skating, pair skating, and ice dance, and are a required element in most figure skating competitions. NHK Trophy
The NHK Trophy is an international, senior-level figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. Skate Canada International
The Skate Canada International is an international, senior-level invitation-only figure skating competition organized by Skate Canada. It is the second competition of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating season. The location changes yearly. Medals are awarded in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The first Skate Canada International was held in 1973. The 1987 competition in Calgary was the test event for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. It was added to the Grand Prix series in 1995, the year the series began. 1981 World Figure Skating Championships
The 1981 World Figure Skating Championships, was 71st edition of World Figure Skating Championship were held in Hartford, Connecticut, United States from March 3 to 8. At the event, sanctioned by the International Skating Union, medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing.
