Noorullah Delwari
Noorulah Delawari is a former Governor of the central bank of Afghanistan, Da Afghanistan Bank, he served from 2004 to 2007 and from 2011 to 2014. Early life Delawari was born in Kabul on November 23, 1942. He studied in the UK and the US and stayed in the US after the invasion of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in 1979. He served for sixteen years at Lloyds Bank of California, rising to be vice-president and head of its international division. Delawari returned to Afghanistan in early 2002, to work as senior advisor to the minister of Finance. In 2003, he founded the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency and served as its president until November 2004, when he became head of Da Afghanistan Bank in 2005. Although the House of the People initially rejected his appointment as governor of the central bank in 2006, he stayed on as governor until 2007. Da Afghanistan Bank
(DAB, ps, د افغانستان بانک; prs, بانک مرکزی افغانستان) is the central bank of Afghanistan. It regulates all banking and money handling operations in Afghanistan. The bank currently has 46 branches throughout the country, with five of these situated in Kabul, where the headquarters is also based. Da Afghanistan Bank is a wholly government-owned bank, established in 1939. DAB is active in developing policies to promote financial inclusion and a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion. Abdul Qadir Fitrat
Abdul Qadir Fitrat () was governor of Da Afghanistan Bank from 2007 to 2011. He fled to the United States and is now wanted by the Afghani government. He is currently residing among the large Afghan-American community in Northern Virginia. Fitrat was born in Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan, he belongs to the Tajik ethnic group. He attended primary school in his native province and secondary school in Kabul. He then moved to Pakistan and received a degree in economics from the International Islamic University. He immigrated to the United States and earned a master's degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Anwar ul-Haq Ahady (August 12, 1951) is a politician in Afghanistan, formerly serving as Afghan Minister of Commerce and Industry. He had served as the nation's Finance Minister from December 2004 to February 5, 2009. Prior to that he held the position as head of Da Afghanistan Bank, the central bank of Afghanistan, from 2002 to 2004. He is also prominent academic and writer.
