Noor Muhammad Lashari
Noor Muhammad Lashari ([Sindhi language, Sindhi: نور محمد لاشاري], 24 October 1931- 1 February 1997) was a stage, radio, TV and film actor from Sindh, Pakistan. He was awarded the Pride of Performance Award in 1992 by the Government of Pakistan. Early life Noor Muhammad Lashari was born on 24 October 1931 at Village Kot Lashari, near Bhan Syedabad, Bhan Saeedabad, Jamshoro District, Sindh, Pakistan. He was the only son of his parents. His father's name was Faiz Muhammad Lashari. After completing school education, he began his career as a primary school teacher. Acting career He began his career as an artist by acting in local stage drama. He joined the local stage drama Society called ''Ustad Bukhari Natak Mandil'' (Ustad Bukhari Drama Society) and performed various roles in many plays staged by this drama society. Sindhi cinema ( sd, سنڌي سينيما) refers to the Sindhi language film industry in Sindh, Pakistan and among the Sindhi diaspora. History The first Sindhi film produced was ''Ekta'' in 1940 directed by Homi Wadia and the last film was Himmath which was released on 1997; while the first Sindhi film produced in Pakistan was ''Umar Marvi'' in 1956 directed by Shaikh Hassan. The first blockbuster Sindhi film released was ''Abana'' released in 1958. Sindhi cinema used to see three to four releases a year until the 1990s. The last Sindhi film released was Himmat in 1997. Issues Satish Anand says that the condition of the theatres is bad, funding is difficult and people prefer mainstream cinema. Sheikh Hafiz Haji Hasan-al-Maroof Sultan Manghopir or Pir Mangho ( Sindhi and Urdu: خواجہ حسن سخی سلطان عرف منگھو پیر ) is the popular name for 13th century Sufi Pir Haji Syed Khawaja Hassan Sakhi Sultan. Sakhi Sultan Manghopir's proper name is Hasan and according to another version Kamaluddin. He was titled a pir by Baba Farid, whose disciple he became. Pir Mangho Urs is celebrated in the Islamic month of Zil Hijjah.
