Nola Matthews
Nola Rhianne Matthews (born September 20, 2006) is an American artistic gymnast. She is the 2023 Pan American uneven bars champion. Early life Matthews was born on September 20, 2006, in San Jose, California to physician parents Drs. Kari Bertrand (ob-gyn) and AJ Matthews (plastic surgery). Bertrand was a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier and an All-American runner for Georgetown University. Matthews began gymnastics when she was two years old. Career Matthews competed at the 2017 Hopes Classic and finished fifteenth with an all-around score of 44.500, meaning she was 0.500 away from qualifying for the Hopes Championships. She finished forty-first in the all-around at the 2018 Hopes Classic and did not qualify for the Hopes Championships. She then competed with her club at the Tournoi International in Combs-la-Ville, France. She won the silver medal in the espoir all-around behind Levi Jung-Ruivivar. The 2022 Winter Cup was an artistic gymnastics competition held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. Like the previous year it included both men's and women's artistic gymnastics. Competition schedule The competition featured senior and junior competitions for both women's and men's disciplines. Addison Fatta ( ) (born November 23, 2004) is an American artistic gymnast. She is a member of the United States national gymnastics team. Early life Fatta was born to Tony and Jen Fatta in 2004 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She started gymnastics in 2005. Gymnastics career Junior 2017–19 Fatta qualified as an elite-level gymnast in 2017. She competed at the American Classic, the U.S. Classic, and at her first National Championships. In 2018 Fatta only competed at the American Classic and the U.S. Classic. Tiana Sumanasekera (born September 15, 2007) is an American artistic gymnast and a member of the United States women's national artistic gymnastics team. She is the 2023 Pan American all-around and balance beam champion. Early life Sumanasekera was born to Rajitha and Ruwangi Sumanasekera in 2007. She started gymnastics in 2013. She is of Sri Lankan descent. Sumanasekera is believed to be the first gymnast of Sri Lankan descent to represent the U.S. in international competition. Joscelyn Michelle Roberson (born February 8, 2006) is an American artistic gymnast and member of the USA national gymnastics team. Zoe Eliana Miller (born November 11, 2005) is an American artistic gymnast and a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team. At the 2023 Pan American Games, she won gold medals on the uneven bars and in the team event with the United States women's gymnastics team. The 2023 Winter Cup is an artistic gymnastics competition that was held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky on February 24–26, 2023. Shilese Jones (born July 26, 2002) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the teams that won gold at the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2022 World Championships and the 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships, 2018 Pan American Championships.
