Noel White (rugby League)
Terence 'Noel' White (30 December 1923 – 20 June 2019) was an Australian rugby league footballer. He was one of only seven players to have represented New South Wales, Queensland and Australia in a 12-month period. At the time of his death, he was Australia's oldest member of the Australia national rugby league team, being the last surviving member of Australia's 1946 team that played England for The Ashes in Australia. White was a winger who was a noted sprinter. Kurri Kurri is a small town in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, in the Cessnock LGA. At the , its population was 6,044. Kurri Kurri is the largest town in a group of towns and hamlets, including Stanford Merthyr, Pelaw Main, Weston, Abermain and Heddon Greta, called Kurri Kurri – Weston by the ABS. Its estimated population was 17,241 at . Foundation The town was founded in 1902 to service the local Stanford Merthyr and Pelaw Main collieries and mining communities. The town was named Kurri Kurri from an unknown source in Sydney, meaning "the very first" as it was the first town in Australia that was fully planned before anything was built. The Kurri Kurri Bulldogs is a semi-professional Australian rugby league football club based in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales formed in 1911. They currently play in the Newcastle Rugby League competition. Home Ground The Bulldogs home ground is Kurri Kurri sports ground. Queensland Rugby League
The Queensland Rugby Football League QRL Constitution, 2009: 3 (QRL QRL Constitution, 2009: 2) is the governing body for rugby league in Queensland. It is a member of the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARL Commission) and selects the members of the Queensland rugby league team. The QRL aims to "foster, develop, extend, govern and control Rugby League Football throughout the State of Queensland". Today the QRL administers the rugby league through its regional divisions. Wests Panthers
The Western Suburbs Panthers, often simply referred to as Wests for short, are a rugby league club based in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The club is the oldest in the QRL and despite absences from the top grade in recent years and several name changes the club continued to operate. After leaving the Queensland Cup, they participated in the Brisbane A-Grade competition from 2005 until their senior sides disbanding in 2012. In 2013, the club entered a voluntary hiatus, but was announced to be part of the revived Brisbane Rugby League. History The club's roots trace back to the first game of rugby league played in the state - a game between North Brisbane and Toombul in 1909.
