Nodirbek Yakubboev (born 23 January 2002) is an Uzbek chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster in 2019. Career He has won the Uzbekistani Chess Championship three times; in 2016, 2018 and 2020. He came second in the Zone 3.4 Zonal Open Championship in 2021, qualifying for the Chess World Cup 2021. Grandmaster (chess)
Grandmaster (GM) is a title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally it has been revoked for cheating. The title of Grandmaster, along with the lesser FIDE titles of International Master (IM) and FIDE Master (FM), is open to all players regardless of gender. The great majority of grandmasters are men, but 40 women have been awarded the GM title as of 2022, out of a total of about 2000 grandmasters. Since about the year 2000, most of the top 10 women have held the GM title. There is also a Woman Grandmaster title with lower requirements awarded only to women. Chess World Cup 2021
The Chess World Cup 2021 was a 206-player single-elimination chess tournament that took place in Sochi, Russia, beginning 12 July and ending 6 August 2021. It was the 9th edition of the Chess World Cup. The winner of this tournament was the Polish GM Jan-Krzysztof Duda, who won without losing any games either in classical chess or in the rapid tiebreakers. The two finalists (Duda and Sergey Karjakin) qualified for the Candidates Tournament 2022. The rest of the final eight, except Magnus Carlsen, qualified for the FIDE Grand Prix 2022. In parallel with this open tournament, an inaugural women-only version was held. Format The tournament was an 8-round knockout event, with the top 50 seeds given a bye directly into the second round. 44th Chess Olympiad
The 44th Chess Olympiad (also known as the Indian Chess Olympiad), was organised by the FIDE, Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) in Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu, India from 28 July to 9 August 2022. It consisted of open and women's tournaments, as well as several events designed to promote the game of chess. The event was initially supposed to take place in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, along with the Chess World Cup 2019, but was later moved to Moscow and scheduled for the period from 5 to 17 August 2020. However, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then relocated to Chennai following 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Performance Rating
The PR (Performance Rating, P-rating) system was a figure of merit developed by AMD, Cyrix, IBM Microelectronics and SGS-Thomson in the mid-1990s (Cyrix announced it in February 1996) as a method of comparing their x86 processors to those of rival Intel. The idea was to consider instructions per cycle (IPC) in addition to the clock speed, so that the processors become comparable with Intel's Pentium that had a higher clock speed with overall lower IPC. Branding The first use of the PR system was in 1995 year, when AMD used it to assert that their AMD 5x86 processor was as fast as a Pentium running at 75 MHz. The designation "P75" was added to the chip to denote this. The letters PR stood for "Performance Rating", but many people mistakenly thought it stood for "Pentium Rating", as the PR was often used to measure performance against Intel's Pentium processor. Nilufar Muradovna Yakubbaeva (born 29 August 2000) is an Uzbekistani chess player. She was awarded the title of Woman International Master in 2020 and Woman Grandmaster in 2022. Career 2019–present Since 2019, Yakubbaeva has won the Women's section of the Uzbekistani Chess Championship three years in a row; in 2019, 2020 and 2021. In 2021, Yakubbaeva earned her first IM norm in the 14th Tashkent Open, Agzamov Memorial A. She ended the tournament with a score of 5/9, for a performance rating of 2468. She later earned her second IM norm at the 2nd International Chess Tournament for the Prizes of the President of Uzbekistan (also known as "President's Cup"), where she finished on 5.5/10 for a performance rating of 2491.
