The Paddingtons
The Paddingtons are an English indie rock band from Hull. Between April 2005 and 9 November 2006, they played over 150 live shows, including venues such as Trent Park Golf Club, The Square, Harlow; Jersey Live; Summercase; The Underground, Stoke-on-Trent; T in the Park and at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Career Composed of Tom Atkin (vocalist), Stuee Bevan (guitarist) (originally Martin Hines), Josh Hubbard (guitarist); and brothers Lloyd (bassist) and Grant Dobbs (drummer), they were signed by Alan McGee to his Poptones record label. They originally made their name touring in and around the Hull area, at such venues as the Welly Club, The New Adelphi Club, and the Railway pub in Cottingham and became part of the New Yorkshire movement of the mid-2000s. Garage Rock
Garage rock (sometimes called garage punk or 60s punk) is a raw and energetic style of rock and roll that flourished in the mid-1960s, most notably in the United States and Canada, and has experienced a series of subsequent revivals. Tony Doogan
Tony Doogan is a Scottish record producer who runs Castle of Doom Studios in Glasgow. He is perhaps best known for his work with Mogwai and Belle & Sebastian. He has also worked with numerous other artists, including Teenage Fanclub, the Delgados, Wintersleep, Els Amics de les Arts, Hefner, Oohyo and the Young Knives on their album '' Superabundance''. He began working on sound recordings when he was 14, helping the PA guy at his local church with the amateur shows being performed there. He has also collaborated with producer Dave Fridmann, whom he originally met when working on the Delgados' album '' The Great Eastern'', on Wintersleep's album ''Hello Hum''. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums. History ''DiS'' began as an email fanzine in 1998 called ''The Last Resort'' but was relaunched by founder and editor Sean Adams as ''Drowned in Sound'' in 2000. The freelance writing team is currently spread across four continents – North America, Asia, Europe and Australasia. The site is mostly based on contributions from unpaid writers and has an integrated forum to allow for discussion and comments on interviews, news and reviews.
