Nkumba University
Nkumba University (NKU) is a chartered private university in Uganda. It was established in 1994 as part of a group of schools and colleges that originally grew from a kindergarten established in 1951. The university is not affiliated with any particular religious organization, but it accommodates several religious associations. Leadership Emmanuel Katongole is the University's Chancellor. He is the Chairman of the Uganda National Oil Company which handles the state’s commercial interests in the oil and gas sector and is also the chairman of the Advisory Board of London Based TLG Capital which among other private equity engagements, runs a programmatic multi-million dollar fund to support progressive African enterprises. Vocational School
A vocational school is a type of educational institution, which, depending on the country, may refer to either secondary or post-secondary education designed to provide vocational education or technical skills required to complete the tasks of a particular and specific job. Business Schools In Uganda
Business is the practice of making one's living or making money by producing or buying and selling products (such as goods and services). It is also "any activity or enterprise entered into for profit." Having a business name does not separate the business entity from the owner, which means that the owner of the business is responsible and liable for debts incurred by the business. Education In Uganda
The system of education in Uganda has a structure of 7 years of primary education, 6 years of secondary education (divided into 4 years of lower secondary and 2 years of upper secondary school), and 3 to 5 years of post-secondary education. Education in Uganda is administered in English. All through out the levels in the education structure, modules are taught and assessed in English. The government of Uganda recognizes education as a basic human right and continues to strive to provide free primary education to all children in the country. However, issues with funding, teacher training, rural populations, and inadequate facilities continue to hinder the progress of educational development in Uganda. Jeje Odongo
General Haji Abubaker Jeje Odongo is a Ugandan senior military officer and politician. In June 2021, he was appointed Uganda's cabinet minister for Foreign Affairs. He has previously served as Minister of Internal Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda from 2016 to 2022. Previously he served as Minister of State for Defence from February 2009 to June 2016. Uganda People's Defence Force
The Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), previously known as the National Resistance Army, is the armed forces of Uganda. From 2007 to 2011, the International Institute for Strategic Studies estimated the UPDF had a total strength of 40,000–45,000 and consisted of land forces and an air wing. Recruitment to the forces is done annually. After Uganda achieved independence in October 1962, British officers retained most high-level military commands. Ugandans in the rank and file claimed this policy blocked promotions and kept their salaries disproportionately low. Katumba Wamala
Edward Katumba Wamala (born 19 November 1956), more commonly known as Katumba Wamala, is a Ugandan general who serves as Minister of Works and Transport in the Ugandan cabinet, since 14 December 2019. Before that, from 17 January 2017 until 14 December 2019, he served as Minister of State for Works in the Ugandan cabinet. He previously served as the chief of defense forces of Uganda, the highest military rank in the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF), from 2013 until 2017. He was the commander of land forces in the UPDF from 2005 to 2013. Doreen Amule
Doreen Ruth Amule, commonly known as Doreen Aumule, is a Ugandan politician and member of parliament, representing Amolatar District Women's Constituency, since 2017. She is a co-sponsor of the controversial parliamentary bill to scrap the age limits of the Ugandan president, as enshrined in the 1995 Ugandan Constitution.
