Nissan G Engine
The Nissan G-series engine was a pushrod engine produced in the 1960s. The G series was used in the Fairlady/Sports 1500 roadster, the Cedric, and Junior. It evolved into the Datsun 1600's '' "R"/H16'' engine. Note that, prior to its merger with Nissan, Prince also made a G series of engines. These are unrelated engines and are documented at the Prince G engine page. G The plain "G" engine was a 1.5-L (1488 cc) used in the Sports 1500 from 1963 through 1965. It was an OHV design. Bore was 80 mm (3.15 in) and stroke was 74 mm (2.91 in). Output was 75 to 85 hp (55.9 to 63.4 kW) and 83 to 92 lb·ft (112.5 to 124.7 Nm) depending on the carburetor equipped. Nissan H Engine
The Nissan H series of automobile engines is an evolution of the Nissan "R" engine which was based on the 1.5-liter, three-main bearing "G" engine used in the 1960s. Both inline-four and inline-six versions were produced. It is a pushrod OHV design with iron block, early models with an iron head, later models with aluminum head. Versions of this motor have been used in many Nissan autos and forklifts, well into the eighties and a version called H20II is still in production today. An overhead valve (OHV) engine, sometimes called a ''pushrod engine'', is a piston engine whose valves are located in the cylinder head above the combustion chamber. This contrasts with earlier flathead engines, where the valves were located below the combustion chamber in the engine block. The is a large automobile produced by Nissan since 1960. It was developed to provide upscale transportation, competing with the Prince Skyline and Gloria which were later merged into the Nissan family. In later years, the Nissan Skyline was positioned as a sports sedan/coupe, whereas the Nissan Gloria was turned into a sporty version of the Cedric (with identical styling but using a different radiator grille and front & rear light clusters). Prince G Engine
The Prince G-series engine was the company's only straight-four and straight-six engines which began production in 1955. A number of variations were made, with both OHV and OHC heads. A diesel four-cylinder with was also built, called the D-6. The G series was used in the Skyline, the Laurel, and the Gloria from the 1950s to the early 1970s. The Nissan Caball is a light commercial truck manufactured by Nissan Motors from December 1957 until December 1981. The Caball was mainly sold in Japan, Hong Kong, South East Asian countries, Australia, New Zealand, and few European countries and shared the Nissan Junior platform.
