Nirmala UI
Nirmala UI is an Brahmic scripts, Indic scripts typeface created by Tiro Typeworks and commissioned by Microsoft. It was first released with Windows 8 in 2012 as a UI font and currently supports languages using Bengali–Assamese script, Bengali–Assamese, Devanagari, Kannada alphabet, Kannada, Gujarati alphabet, Gujarati, Gurmukhī alphabet, Gurmukhi, Malayalam script, Malayalam, Meitei script, Meitei, Odia alphabet, Odia, Ol Chiki alphabet, Ol Chiki, Sinhala script, Sinhala, Sora Sompeng, Tamil script, Tamil and Telugu script, Telugu. It also has support for Latin, with glyphs matching Segoe UI. It is also packaged with Microsoft Office 2013 and later versions of Windows. It has 3 weights : Regular, Bold and SemiLight. The typeface was art-directed by Fiona Ross (type designer), Fiona Ross, produced by John Hudson, hinted by Ross Mills. Sans-serif
In typography and lettering, a sans-serif, sans serif, gothic, or simply sans letterform is one that does not have extending features called "serifs" at the end of strokes. Sans-serif typefaces tend to have less stroke width variation than serif typefaces. They are often used to convey simplicity and modernity or minimalism. Sans-serif typefaces have become the most prevalent for display of text on computer screens. On lower-resolution digital displays, fine details like serifs may disappear or appear too large. The term comes from the French word , meaning "without" and "serif" of uncertain origin, possibly from the Dutch word meaning "line" or pen-stroke. In printed media, they are more commonly used for display use and less for body text. Before the term "sans-serif" became common in English typography, a number of other terms had been used. Sinhala Script
The Sinhala script ( si, සිංහල අක්ෂර මාලාව, Siṁhala Akṣara Mālāva), also known as Sinhalese script, is a writing system used by the Sinhalese people and most Sri Lankans in Sri Lanka and elsewhere to write the Sinhala language as well as the liturgical languages Pali and Sanskrit.Daniels (1996), p. 408.
