Nirmala UI
Nirmala UI is an Brahmic scripts, Indic scripts typeface created by Tiro Typeworks and commissioned by Microsoft. It was first released with Windows 8 in 2012 as a UI font and currently supports languages using Bengali–Assamese script, Bengali–Assamese, Devanagari, Kannada alphabet, Kannada, Gujarati alphabet, Gujarati, Gurmukhī alphabet, Gurmukhi, Malayalam script, Malayalam, Meitei script, Meitei, Odia alphabet, Odia, Ol Chiki alphabet, Ol Chiki, Sinhala script, Sinhala, Sora Sompeng, Tamil script, Tamil and Telugu script, Telugu. It also has support for Latin, with glyphs matching Segoe UI. It is also packaged with Microsoft Office 2013 and later versions of Windows. It has 3 weights : Regular, Bold and SemiLight. In typography and lettering, a sans-serif, sans serif, gothic, or simply sans letterform is one that does not have extending features called "serifs" at the end of strokes. Sans-serif typefaces tend to have less stroke width variation than serif typefaces. They are often used to convey simplicity and modernity or minimalism. Steve Matteson
Steven R. Matteson (born 1965, Chicago, Illinois) is an American typeface designer whose work is included in several computer operating systems and embedded in game consoles, cell phones and other electronic devices. He is the designer of the Microsoft font family Segoe included since Windows XP; of the Droid font collection used in the Android mobile device platform, and designed the brand and user-interface fonts used in both the original Microsoft Xbox and the Xbox 360. Biography Matteson is a 1988 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied typography, design and printing. Fiona Ross (born 1954) is a British type designer, academic and linguist. Since 2003, she has worked at the University of Reading, where she is a Professor and Lecturer in Non-Latin Typeface Design. She has received awards such as the 2014 SoTA Typography Award and the 2018 TDC Medal. Ross was employed by Linotype's UK branch for designing fonts in non-Latin systems such as Bengali and Arabic. She received a PhD from SOAS, University of London in 1988, writing her thesis on the history of type design in the Bengali alphabet. Telugu Script
Telugu script ( te, తెలుగు లిపి, Telugu lipi), an abugida from the Brahmic family of scripts, is used to write the Telugu language, a Dravidian language spoken in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well as several other neighbouring states.
