Niranjana (writer)
Kulakunda Shiva Rao (15 June 1924 – 13 March 1992), popularly known as Niranjana, was a Kannada playwright, novelist and a freedom fighter. The hardships faced during childhood shaped Niranjana's later literary career. Writing career Niranjana wrote more than sixty books. His first published novel was ''Vimochane'' (''Wait for the moon'') published in 1953. Some of his other notable works are— ''Chirasmarane'', and ''Mrityunjaya''. He also edited Kannada translation of ''Vishwa Katha Kosha'' (''A Treasury of World Short Stories''). He also translated a number of works into Kannada language. Niranjana was attracted to Marxism during his youth and was an active member of the Communist Party of India. He became disillusioned later and left it but still continued to raise his voice for the downtrodden and oppressed through his writings. Lenin Rajendran ( ml, ലെനിൻ രാജേന്ദ്രൻ) was an Indian film director and screenwriter who worked in Malayalam cinema. He served as the Chairman of Kerala State Film Development Corporation from 2016 to January 2019. Career Beginning his film-making career as an assistant to director P. A. Backer, Rajendran made his directorial debut with ''Venal'' (1982). From his first film to his latest one, Edavappathy (2016), Rajendran has been consistent with the quality of his films, not surrendering to market forces even while using the form and stars of popular cinema. ''Meenamasathile Sooryan'' () is a 1986 Indian Malayalam language film, directed by Lenin Rajendran and produced by C. G. Bhaskaran. It is based on the Kannada novel ''Chirasmarane'' (1955) by Niranjana. The film stars Venu Nagavally, Murali, Vijay Menon, Kakka Ravi and Shobhana in the lead roles. The film has musical score by M. Kayyur is a village in Kasaragod district in the state of Kerala, India.Nearest town is Cheemeni. Administration Kayyur is a small village in the Hosdurg taluk. Kayyur Incident In 1940, peasants there under the leadership of communists rose against the two local jenmis, ''Nambiar of Kalliat'' and the ''Nayanar of Karakkatt Edam''. Several people were killed and four communist leaders were found guilty and hanged by the government,(Madathil Appu, Podavara Kunhambu Nair, Koithattil Chirukandan and Pallickal Abu Bakr)being the guilty.
