Alejandrina “Nina” Sicilia Hernández (born December 3, 1962, in Caracas) is a Venezuelan model and beauty queen who was the very first Venezuelan to hold the Miss International title. Career Born in Caracas, Venezuela, she represented the Monagas State in the Miss Venezuela pageant in 1985, winning the special band of Miss Elegance and the place of First Finalist, enabling her to represent Venezuela in the Miss International pageant. In August 1985 she won the pageant, becoming the first Venezuelan ever to win it. In addition, Nina Sicilia is a pianist; she studied at the Juan José Landaeta National Conservatory of Music in Caracas, complementing her ten years of piano with studies in theory and music theory, music history, harmony and composition. Miss Venezuela 1985 was the 32nd Miss Venezuela pageant, was held in Caraballeda, Vargas (state), Vargas state, Venezuela, on May 3, 1985, after weeks of events. The winner of the pageant was Silvia Martínez, Guárico, Miss Guárico. The pageant was broadcast live on Venevision from the Macuto Sheraton Hotel in Caraballeda, Vargas (state), Vargas state. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, outgoing titleholder Carmen María Montiel, crowned Silvia Martínez of Guárico as the new Miss Venezuela.
