Nimali Liyanarachchi
Nimali Waliwarsha Konda Liyanarachchi (born 19 September 1989) is a Sri Lankan 800 m runner and current national record holder in women's 1500m event. She is also believed to be the first Sri Lankan woman to have competed in steeplechase events. She became the first Sri Lankan woman to complete the distance of 3000 metres in steeplechase event under 11 minutes. She won the best athlete award twice at the Presidential award ceremonies by the Sports Ministry including the Most Outstanding Sportswoman of the Year in 2015. She is currently attached to Sri Lanka Air Force. Biography She was born in Hambantota, Sooriyaweva. She hails from a family background which involved in farming as both of her parents were farmers. Gayanthika Artigala Thushari Abeyratne (born 23 December 1986) is a Sri Lankan middle-distance runner who established a national record time at 800m. Career She won a gold medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and silver at the 2017 Asian Championships. She currently holds her country's national record in the 800 metres. 2016 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships
The 2016 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships was the seventh edition of the international indoor athletics event between Asian nations. It took place at the Aspire Dome in Doha, Qatar, between 19 and 21 February. Three new women's Asian indoor records were set at the competition: in the pole vault by Li Ling, 51.67 seconds for the 400 metres by Kemi Adekoya, and 3:35.07 minutes for the 4 × 400 metres relay set by Bahrain. In total, twelve championship records were improved at the competition. The host nation Qatar topped the medal table with six gold medals (all on the men's side). Tintu Luka
Tintu Luka (born 26 April 1989) is an Indian track and field athlete, who predominantly competes in the middle-distance running events. Born in Valathode, Kerala, she is the national record holder in the women's 800 metres. Luka represented India at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. In addition to being the 2015 Asian Champion in the 800 meters, she has won a total of six medals at the Asian Athletics Championships. Luka also competes in sprinting events including 400 metres and the 4 × 400 metres relay, and was a part of the gold medal winning relay team at the 2013 Asian Athletics Championships and the 2014 Asian Games.
