Nikolina Nikoleski (born 1976), born in Zagreb, Croatia, is a leading dancer and choreographer of Bharatanatyam. She learned contemporary dance in Germany at the prestigious dance academy of Pina Bausch – (Folkwang Hochschule Essen) - and spent six years in India learning Bharatanatyam. Her Guru is the highly regarded Padmashree Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan. She is half Macedonians (ethnic group), Macedonian (Father from Vranče, Republic of Macedonia, Macedonia) and half Croats, Croatian (mother from Zagreb, Croatia). She was a professor of dance at the French Embassy School in Delhi, Father Agnel School New Delhi. In 2012 she established Nikolina Nikoleski Dance Academy where she runs classes in contemporary dance, ballet and Bharatanatyam. Saroja Vaidyanathan
Saroja Vaidyanathan (born 19 September 1937) is a choreographer, guru and a notable exponent of Bharatanatyam. She was conferred the Padma Shri in 2002 and the Padma Bhushan in 2013 by the Government of India. Early life and education Saroja was born in Bellary, Karnataka in 1937. She received her initial training in Bharatanatyam at the Saraswati Gana Nilayam in Chennai and later studied under guru Kattumannar Muthukumaran Pillai of Thanjavur. She has also studied Carnatic music under Professor P. Sambamoorthy at Madras University and has a D.Litt in dance from the Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh.
