Nielsen Gallery
Nielsen Gallery is a commercial art gallery originally located on Newbury Street in the Back Bay area of Boston, United States. Founded in 1963 by Nina Nielsen and John Baker, the gallery won “Best Show in a Commercial Gallery in the United States,” prizes from the International Association of Art Critics, in 2005 and 2009. Originally a frame shop that also sold Japanese prints, they began to exhibit paintings in 1973. During the 46 years that the gallery was open in its original building, and also in its current online and by-appointment incarnation, it has showcased and supported contemporary American artists, especially those creating experimental and avant-garde work. The gallery's spirit was described by ''Artdeal Magazine'' as "the warmest, most intense, most powerful and inspirational art experience north of Manhattan.” Artists featured through the gallery have included Jackson Pollock, Joan Snyder, Dexter Lazenby, Nathalie Miebach, James Cambronne, Albert York, Arthur ...

Nielsen–Olesen Vortex
In theoretical physics, a Nielsen–Olesen vortex is a point-like object localized in two spatial dimensions or, equivalently, a classical solution of field theory with the same property. This particular solution occurs if the configuration space of scalar fields contains non-contractible circles. A circle surrounding the vortex at infinity may be "wrapped" once on the other circle in the configuration space. A configuration with this non-trivial topological property is called the Nielsen–Olesen vortex, after Holger Bech Nielsen and Poul Olesen (1973). The solution is formally identical to the solution of Quantum vortex in superconductor. Nielsen Park She-Oak
''Allocasuarina portuensis'', commonly known as the Nielsen Park she-oak, is an extremely rare plant growing in Sydney, Australia. Encountered as a shrub or small slender tree, up to tall, it has green drooping branchlets up to in length. It is dioecious, that is, male and female flowers are borne on separate plants. Measuring long and 0.8–1 cm wide, the cones are perched on 0.2–1.5 cm long peduncles arising from the branchlets. The plant was discovered by Peter Brookhouse, a NPWS Ranger who worked at Sydney Harbour National Park. It was officially described by Lawrie Johnson in 1989. The specific epithet ''portuensis'' is from the Latin, meaning "inhabiting a port", as this species was originally found at Port Jackson.Les Robinson - Field Guide to the Native Plants of Sydney, p. 151 It most resembles '' Allocasuarina rigida'' and '' A. distyla'' and can be distinguished by differences in the male flowers. ''A. portuensis'' was originally identified in 1986 ...

Nielsen Fixed-point Theorem
Nielsen theory is a branch of mathematical research with its origins in topological fixed-point theory. Its central ideas were developed by Danish mathematician Jakob Nielsen, and bear his name. The theory developed in the study of the so-called ''minimal number'' of a map ''f'' from a compact space to itself, denoted ''MF'' 'f'' This is defined as: :\mathit = \min \, where ''~'' indicates homotopy of mappings, and #Fix(''g'') indicates the number of fixed points of ''g''. The minimal number was very difficult to compute in Nielsen's time, and remains so today. Nielsen's approach is to group the fixed-point set into classes, which are judged "essential" or "nonessential" according to whether or not they can be "removed" by a homotopy. Nielsen's original formulation is equivalent to the following: We define an equivalence relation In mathematics, an equivalence relation is a binary relation that is reflexive, symmetric and transitive. The equipollence relation between line ...
