Nicole Castrale
Nicole Castrale (pronounced "cass-TRAHL-ee", née Dalkas, born March 24, 1979) is an American professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. Castrale was born in Glendale, California, and started playing golf at the age of 10. She graduated from Palm Desert High School in 1997 and played college golf for the USC Trojans in Los Angeles and earned her bachelor's degree in 2001. Professional career Castrale has won once on the LPGA Tour, the 2007 Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika. She also played on the Futures Tour, winning twice in consecutive weeks in 2005. Castrale played on the U.S. Solheim Cup teams in 2007 and 2009. She made the clinching putt for the U.S. to defeat Europe in the 2007 matches in Halmstad, Sweden. She also played on the International team in the 2007 and 2008 Lexus Cups. Castrale did not compete past June in both 2010 and 2011. 2009 LPGA Championship
The 2009 LPGA Championship was the 55th LPGA Championship, played June 11–14 at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland. This was the second of four major championships on the LPGA Tour in 2009. Tour rookie Anna Nordqvist, age 22, won her first major title, four strokes ahead of runner-up Lindsey Wright. It was Nordqvist's first career win on the LPGA Tour. Beginning in 2005, this championship was played at Bulle Rock for five consecutive seasons, ending with this edition. Solheim Cup
The Solheim Cup is a biennial golf tournament for professional women golfers contested by teams representing Europe and the United States. It is named after the Norwegian-American golf club manufacturer Karsten Solheim, who was a driving force behind its creation. The inaugural Cup was held in 1990, and the event was first staged in even numbered years until 2002, alternating years with the Ryder Cup (the equivalent men's event). As part of the general reshuffling of team golf events after the one-year postponement of the 2001 Ryder Cup following the September 11 attacks, the Solheim Cup switched to odd numbered years beginning in 2003. Another reshuffle of team golf events took place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Solheim Cup will return to even numbered years from 2024. Alena Sharp
Alena Sharp (born March 7, 1981) is a Canadians, Canadian professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. A graduate of New Mexico State University, where she played on the golf team, Sharp turned professional in 2003, playing two seasons on the Futures Tour and on other minor tours before joining the LPGA Tour in 2005. Team WLF.org Golf Classic was an annual golf tournament for professional women golfers on the Futures Tour, the LPGA Tour's developmental tour. The event was played from 2005 through 2007 at the Kankakee Elks Country Club in the Kankakee, Illinois area. The title sponsor from 2006 was the World Leadership Foundation (WLF), an international Christian-based training ministry. Lorena Ochoa
Lorena Ochoa Reyes (; born 15 November 1981) is a Mexican former professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010. She was the top-ranked female golfer in the world for 158 consecutive and total weeks (both are LPGA Tour records), from 23 April 2007 to her retirement on 2 May 2010, at the age of 28 years old. As the first Mexican golfer of either gender to be ranked number one in the world, she is considered the best Mexican golfer and the best Latin American female golfer of all time. The 2012 LPGA Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world that began in Australia on February 9 and ended November 18 in Florida. The tournaments are sanctioned by the United States-based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). The 2010 LPGA Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world that began in Thailand on February 13, 2010 and ended in Florida on December 5, 2010. The tournaments were sanctioned by the United States-based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
