Nick Moore (American Football)
Nicholas Robert Moore (born December 9, 1992) is an American football long snapper for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played professional baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization before playing college football at Georgia. Baseball career Moore spent four seasons in the minor league system of the Boston Red Sox after being drafted in the 30th round of the 2011 MLB draft out of high school. He primarily played for the Lowell Spinners at first base and third base. In 195 total minor league games, he batted .211/.304/.314 with 11 home runs, 75 RBI, and 27 stolen bases. College career Moore played college football at Georgia, where he was recruited to play linebacker and also played fullback. He switched to long snapper in 2017. Long Snapper
In American football, the long snapper (or deep snapper) is a center on special teams whose duty is to snap the football over a longer distance, typically around 15 yards during punts, and 7–8 yards during field goals and extra point attempts. Overview During field goal and point after touchdown attempts, the snap is received by the holder, typically 7–8 yards away. During punts, the snap is delivered to the punter from 13–15 yards away. Following a punt snap, the snapper often executes a blocking assignment and then must cover the kick by running downfield and attempting to stop the opposing team's punt returner from advancing the ball in the opposite direction. If the punt goes uncaught, it is the snapper's responsibility to make sure the ball does not enter the end zone or bounce backward resulting in loss of yards. The Lowell Spinners were a baseball team based in Lowell, Massachusetts. From 1996 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's New York–Penn League (NYPL) as the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. With Major League Baseball's reorganization of the minor leagues after the 2020 season, Lowell was not selected to continue in affiliated baseball. The Achilles tendon or heel cord, also known as the calcaneal tendon, is a tendon at the back of the lower leg, and is the thickest in the human body. Morgan Cox (born April 26, 1986) is an American football long snapper for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played college football at Tennessee. College career Cox was a walk-on for the Tennessee Volunteers football team as a long snapper, earning a scholarship prior to the 2008 season. The 2020 XFL Draft was the inaugural player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams of the 2020 reboot of the XFL. The draft was held on October 15–16, 2019, via conference call, with results released through the XFL's social media channels. The XFL is a professional American football minor league consisting of eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets served by at least one other major professional sports team.
