Nick Hits (Nickelodeon Latin America Block)
Nick Hits was a programming block on Nickelodeon, which aired classic Nicktoons, it replaced Nick at Nite on weekends. The block launched on July 4, 2009 and ended on April 5, 2010. Nickelodeon (Latin America)
Nickelodeon is a Latin American pay television channel, counterpart of the American network of the same name. It is owned by Paramount Networks Americas and was launched on 20 November 1995. Aside from airing Nick and Nick Jr. content, it has produced original programming for the channel and has been sold to local distributors worldwide except for Cuba as cable television is banned in that country. History The channel was launched on 20 December 1996 in Latin America as a children-oriented channel, being the main competitor of Cartoon Network, which was launched three years before. In 1999, Nickelodeon launched its official website for the region, MundoNick.com. "Nick Radio" was also available, but eventually it was replaced by the Nick Jr. official site. Invader Zim
''Invader Zim'' is an American animated science fiction dark comedy television series created by comic book writer and cartoonist Jhonen Vasquez for Nickelodeon. The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz), from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR (Rosearik Rikki Simons). He is antagonized by Dib ( Andy Berman), a young paranormal investigator who is determined to stop Zim from succeeding. Nickelodeon contacted Jhonen Vasquez about pitching ideas for an animated series for their older demographic and ''Invader Zim'' was the first thing he pitched. In Vasquez's words "it went from pitch to series without hardly any waiting". As the series went on, ratings declined and budgetary issues became more frequent. NickRewind (formerly The '90s Are All That, The Splat, and NickSplat) was an American late night Block programming, programming block that broadcast nightly over the channel space of TeenNick. The block showed reruns of mid-late 1980s, 1990s, and early-mid 2000s children's programming, mostly shows that aired on Nickelodeon during their original runs. Collectively under all of its various brands, TeenNick's overnight classic programming block ran from July 25, 2011 to January 31, 2022. The block was preceded in the format by The ''90s Are All That'', which debuted the night of July 25, 2011 (early July 26) and was inspired by a large amount of interest in classic Nickelodeon series from the 1990s by users of social media outlets such as Facebook.
