Nick Gwiazdowski
Nickolos Edward Gwiazdowski (born December 30, 1992) is an American freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler. A two-time NCAA Division I National Champion for the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Gwiazdowski has won two bronze medals at the World Championships and has captured a Pan American Games title and two Pan American Championships for Team USA. High school career He was a 2 time NYSPHSAA (New York) Division II state champion for Duanesburg High School, where he went 50-0 as a senior, and managed to not have a single opponent go the entire match with him. He received the Dave Schultz and Wade Schalles Awards at the end of the season. College career Nick earned All-American honors as a true freshman at Binghamton University in 2012 (8th at 285). 2019 Pan American Wrestling Championships
The 2019 Pan American Wrestling Championships was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 19 to 21 April 2019. The top three countries in the 18 weight categories scheduled to be held at the 2019 Pan American Games (also in Lima) will qualify for the Pan American Games. If Peru has not qualified at the end of the 2019 Pan American Championships, the third spot available at the tournament will be awarded to Peru. Wade Schalles
Wade Schalles (born September 10, 1951) is an American former folkstyle and freestyle wrestler. In college, he represented Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He is also an accomplished black belt judoka and samboist, winning national championships in both disciplines. He created several unique wrestling techniques, including the Spladle, Lazy Man Cradle, and the Clemson Roll. In 1991, Schalles was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member. Education Schalles graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania in 1969, and then went on to graduate from Clarion University of Pennsylvvania with a secondary education degree in 1974. Dave Schultz (amateur Wrestler)
David Lesley Schultz (June 6, 1959 – January 26, 1996) was an American Olympic and World champion freestyle wrestler, and a seven-time World and Olympic medalist. He coached individuals and teams at the college level and also privately. Dave and his brother, wrestler Mark Schultz, both won gold at the same Olympics (1984). The Schultzes were one of three sets of brothers (the others are Buvaisar and Adam Saitiev, and Anatoli and Sergei Beloglazov) to win both World and Olympic championships. The Schultz brothers won more NCAA, U.S. Open, World, and Olympic titles than any other American brother combination in history. Schultz was employed as a coach by John du Pont, a multimillionaire philanthropist who sponsored the private Foxcatcher wrestling team at an amateur sports center known as Foxcatcher Farm that he set up on his estate in Pennsylvania. This style of wrestling, with some slight modifications, is also practiced at high school and middle school levels, and also among younger participants. Binghamton Bearcats Wrestling
The Binghamton Bearcats wrestling team represents Binghamton University of Vestal, New York. The Bearcats compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) and are coached by Kyle Borshoff. History Binghamton has fielded a college wrestling team since 1969. The team competed on the NCAA Division III level until 1998. The Bearcats moved to Division II in 1999 and Division I in 2002. The wrestling team joined the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association in July 2013. NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships
The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships have been held annually since 1928, except for a hiatus in 1943–45 during World War II and in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 1928 and from 1931–1933, there was only an unofficial team title. Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State) won the 1928 and 1931 unofficial titles. NC State Wolfpack
The NC State Wolfpack is the nickname of the athletic teams representing North Carolina State University. The Wolfpack competes at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for college football) as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) for all sports since the 1953–54 season.
