Nick Akins
Nicholas Akins is the chief executive officer (CEO) and president of American Electric Power (AEP), a major investor-owner electric utility in the United States. Career Akins is the tenth president and sixth CEO in AEP's history and has served in that capacity since 2010. Akins serves as the only management representative on the AEP board of directors. From 2006 to 2010, Akins served as AEP's executive vice president of generation. From 2004 to 2006, Akins served as president and chief operating officer for Southwestern Electric Power Company. Prior to that, Akins served as vice president of energy marketing services and before that vice president of industry restructuring for AEP. Akins rose through the ranks at Central and South West Corp. (CSW) before the company merged with AEP in 2000. The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) is an arts organization in Columbus, Ohio. The council funds artists and organizations in Central Ohio, and hosts the annual Columbus Arts Festival. Building The Greater Columbus Arts Council office is the former Winders Motor Sales Company, a historic building in Downtown Columbus. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. The building is one of few early car dealerships remaining in downtown Columbus. The building was constructed in 1916 during a period of commercial development downtown. The building became an early dealership in the city, and an early commercial business as manufacturing work became less common downtown. New Albany, Ohio
New Albany is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located northeast of the state capital of Columbus. Most of the city is located in Franklin County and a small portion extends into adjacent Licking County. New Albany had a population of 10,825 at the 2020 census. Founded in 1837, it is now a growing suburb in the Columbus metropolitan area. History The land that was to become the city was founded in the center of Plain Township in 1837 by Nobel Landon and William Yantis. Land was split into lots measuring by and sold to new settlers. The Wexner Center for the Arts is the Ohio State University's "multidisciplinary, international laboratory for the exploration and advancement of contemporary art". The Wexner Center opened in November 1989, named in honor of the father of Limited Brands founder Leslie Wexner, who was a major donor to the center. The Wexner Center is a lab and public gallery, but not an art museum, as it does not collect art.
