Nibret Melak Bogale (born 9 October 1999) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. Career He won the Cinque Mulini in 2021, the second leg of the World Athletics Cross Country Permit series completing a double for Ethiopia with Tsehay Gemechu winning the women's race. It was Melak's second consecutive podium finish in the Cross Country Permit series, following his runner-up spot at the Campaccio in San Giorgio su Legnano the previous week. Earlier in the year he successfully defended his senior men's title at the Jan Meda International Cross Country, which doubles as the Ethiopian Championships. Two weeks prior, he had beaten two-time world champion Muktar Edris over 5000m in Addis Ababa. Tsehay Gemechu (born 12 December 1998) is an Ethiopian Long-distance running, long-distance runner. She represented Ethiopia in the women's 5000 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, finishing fourth. Athletics At The 2023 African Games
The 13th African Games is expected to be held in three cities in Ghana in 2024 on dates yet to be confirmed. This will be the second time in history that the games will be decentralized in a process that started in the previous edition held in Morocco. The three cities chosen for these functions are Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast. Bids * Accra, Ghana (elected) * Abuja, Nigeria * Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso Ghana won the rights to host the event in October 2018. The Kip Keino Classic is a track and field meeting held at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya and named after Olympian Kipchoge Keino. The inaugural edition took place in 2020 as part of the inaugural World Athletics Continental Tour. Getnet Wale Bayabl (born 16 July 2000) is an Ethiopian runner specialising in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He finished fourth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well as at the 2019 and 2022 World Athletics Championships. Wale won the silver medal at the 2019 African Games and a bronze at the 2018 African Championships in Athletics. He earned bronze medals at the 2016 and 2018 World Under-20 Championships. In 2019, he became the Diamond League 3000 m steeplechase champion. Wale is the current Ethiopian record holder in the indoor 3000 metres.
