Niagara Frontier League
The Niagara Frontier League (NFL) is a high school athletic league in Western New York. It was formed in the spring of 1937 at a meeting in Mike Cutt's Clay Pipe Inn in Tonawanda, New York. Representatives from Lackawanna, Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, Niagara Falls, Trott, Kenmore and Lockport merged the former RPI basketball and St. Lawrence football leagues to found the NFL. In the early years of the NFL, schedules were balanced by granting associate memberships for either football or basketball to Batavia, Dunkirk, Jamestown, and Olean. The league stabilized its membership in 1939 with the addition of La Salle and the expansion to other sports. In 1959, Kenmore East entered competition and in 1961, the late Harry Blakeslee brought Lewiston-Porter into the fold from the Niagara Orleans League. 1965 saw the withdrawal of charter member Lackawanna to the E.C.I.C. Western New York
Western New York (WNY) is the westernmost region of the U.S. state of New York. The eastern boundary of the region is not consistently defined by state agencies or those who call themselves "Western New Yorkers". Almost all sources agree WNY includes the cities of Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Jamestown, and the surrounding suburbs, as well as the outlying rural areas of the Great Lakes lowlands and Niagara Frontier, and Chautauqua-Alleghany (or the western Southern Tier). Many would also place Rochester and the Genesee Valley in the region while some would also include the western Finger Lakes within the region. Others would describe the latter three areas as being in a separate Finger Lakes region. The State of New York sometimes defines the WNY region as including just five counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara. Nichols School
Nichols School is a private, non-denominational, co-educational college- preparatory day school in Buffalo, New York, United States. The average enrollment is 570 students with an average Upper School grade/class size of 98 students. The average classroom size is 14 students. History Nichols School was founded in 1892 by William Nichols. The school was founded as an all-boys school with its campus on Amherst Street in North Buffalo. After many years of remaining an all boys school, it joined with Nottingham Academy, an all-girls school, becoming a co-ed Middle and Upper School. Nichols High School
Nichols High School is a historic high school located at Nichols in Tioga County, New York. It is a Tudor Revival style, three-story, rectangular brick structure with limestone trim built in 1911–1912. The hipped roof is topped with a belfry that retains the original school bell. Lackawanna High School
Lackawanna is a city in Erie County, New York, United States, just south of the city of Buffalo in western New York State. The population was 19,949 at the 2020 census. Kenmore West Senior High School (nicknamed Ken-West) is one of two public high schools in the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District. The other is Kenmore East Senior High School. History Founding In 1938, a WPA grant of about $700,000 was received from the federal government toward the creation of a separate building for the senior high school on Highland Parkway, and the school district provided over $1M in additional funds.
