Ngezi Platinum F.C.
Ngezi Platinum F.C. (also known as Ngezi Platinum Stars F.C.) is a Zimbabwean association football, football club. They originated from Ngezi mine, Ngezi Mine and play at the newly refurbished Baobab Stadium in Ngezi mine, Ngezi. The club won their first-ever league title in 2023 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, 2023. Ngezi Platinum were promoted to the top flight for the first time in 2016 and proceeded to win the cup final that same season with a 3–1 victory over FC Platinum in the final. Coach Tonderai Ndiraya led Ngezi to a seventh-placed finish in their first season in the Premier Soccer League, but left by mutual consent with five games left in the 2018 season, which Ngezi Platinum ended as runners-up. Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League
Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League is the top professional division of the Zimbabwe Football Association. It was founded in 1980, as a successor to the 1962 formed ''Rhodesia National Football League.'' It is currently sponsored by Delta Beverages under the Castle Lager brand and hence is known as Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. The current sponsorship deal runs from 2011 and is worth $3.6 million. The league consists of 18 teams listed below, that play a total of 34 matches. The season runs from April to November. Most matches are played during weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Postponed matches are played midweek. At the end of the season four teams are relegated into the lower division and an equal number promoted. The end of season winner qualifies for the CAF Champions League, while the Cup of Zimbabwe winners gains entry into the CAF Confederation Cup. The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is the governing body of football in Zimbabwe. It is responsible for organising national football competitions in Zimbabwe and managing the Zimbabwe national football teams. The current ZIFA was founded in 1979. It has been affiliated with FIFA since 1965 and has been a member of the CAF since 1980. In October 2015, Zimbabwe Football Association President, Cuthbert Dube, stepped down after five years in charge. Gerald Takwara
John Gerald Tungamirai Takwara (born 29 October 1994) is a Zimbabwean professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Saudi Arabian club Ohod and the Zimbabwe national team. The Cup of Zimbabwe (most recently known as the CBZ FA Cup due to sponsorship) is the top knockout tournament of the Zimbabwean football. It was created in 1962 as the Cup of Southern Rhodesia and was known between 1965 and 1980 as the Cup of Rhodesia.
