Newton station is a train station in Newton, Kansas, United States, served by Amtraks ''Southwest Chief'' train. It is the nearest station to Kansas' largest city, Wichita. History The station was originally built in a Tudor Revival style by Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in 1929, and was modeled after William Shakespeare's house in Stratford-on-Avon. Newton station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. From 2015 to 2019 the station has consistently been the most-frequented Amtrak station in Kansas. Newton for Hyde railway station, serves the Newton area of Hyde in Greater Manchester, England. Newton for Hyde is east of Manchester Piccadilly station and managed by Northern Trains. The station unusually features both a covered subway underneath the platforms and a larger viaduct tunnel accessible from both sides, meaning there are 2 ways to cross platforms underground. The eastern side of the station containing these passageways is raised on the viaduct. History The station was opened by the Sheffield, Ashton-Under-Lyne and Manchester Railway as ''"Newton and Hyde"'' in 1841, however the station signage referred to the station as "''Newton''". Newton MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Downtown (DTL) lines. It is located in Newton, Singapore, at the junction of Scotts Road and Bukit Timah Road near Newton Circus. The station serves the offices and condominiums around Newton Circus including Goldbell Towers and Scotts Highpark, and it is within walking distance to the Newton Food Centre. Newton Corner was a streetcar and passenger rail station in the Newton Corner neighborhood of Newton, Massachusetts, located near where Washington Street crosses the Massachusetts Turnpike. The Newton Corner station, known simply as Newton for much of its lifetime, served commuters on the Worcester Line (run by the New York Central Railroad and its predecessors) from 1834 to 1959.
