Newsline Express
MTR In-Train TV (), provides Cable TV news and infotainment programmes through LC displays installed on board Hong Kong's MTR trains. The rates for advertising are 10 seconds for HK$20,000 and the advertising receives over one million views per day. History The service was started in July 2005 by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (then-called Newsline Express ()), and at the time was installed in every train compartment running on East Rail line, West Rail line and Ma On Shan line. Metro Cammell trains of the East Rail line are equipped with wider LCD TVs (22-inch), while the SP1900 trains of the West Rail line and Ma On Shan line had smaller screens (15-inch). The original SP1900 TVs were replaced with larger displays during refurbishment in 2015–2018. Kwun Tong Line
The Kwun Tong line is a heavy-rail rapid transit line of the MTR network in Hong Kong, coloured green on the MTR map. Starting at Whampoa in Hung Hom and ending at Tiu Keng Leng in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung, the route has 17 stations and takes 35 minutes to complete. The Kwun Tong line is one of the busiest railway lines on the network connecting the central and the eastern portions of Kowloon via Wong Tai Sin. The line is mostly underground, but includes a lengthy elevated section, and runs generally in an east-west direction. During the morning rush hour, the Kwun Tong line utilises 33 trains running at 2.1-minute-intervals to achieve a route capacity of 85,000 pphpd. Tuen Ma Line
The Tuen Ma line () is a rapid transit line that forms part of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. Coloured brown on the map, the Tuen Ma line is in length, making it the longest line of the MTR network. It has a total of 27 stations, more than any other in the MTR system. The Tuen Ma line is a merger of the two former MTR lines, the West Rail line and the Ma On Shan line, via a new stretch of mostly-underground railway known as the "Tai Wai to Hung Hom section" () of the Sha Tin to Central Link project, consisting of of track and six new intermediate stations. The Tai Wai to Kai Tak section (大圍至啟德段) opened on 14 February 2020, while the Kai Tak to Hung Hom section opened on 27 June 2021, thereby completing the line. MTR CRC-Stock EMU
The Changchun EMU or CNR Changchun EMU is an electric multiple unit train type of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. Designed and manufactured by Changchun Railway Vehicles, a member of CNR group (now merged with CSR to form CRRC), they were the first MTR heavy-rail stock to be manufactured in Mainland China, while past orders came from England, Japan, Europe or South Korea. The trains come in two versions: the C-Train, a manned eight-car train which is used mainly on the Kwun Tong line; and the S-Train, a driverless three-car variant which operates on the South Island line since its opening in December 2016. Island Line (MTR)
The Island line is one of eleven lines of the MTR, the mass transit system in Hong Kong. It runs from Kennedy Town in the Western district to Chai Wan in the Eastern District on Hong Kong Island, passing through the territory's major business districts of Central, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, and connecting them with built-up areas on the north shore of the island. The line first opened on 31 May 1985. As of 2022 it travels in 25 minutes along its route, serving 17 stations. The line is indicated by the colour dark blue on the MTR route map. Tseung Kwan O Line
The Tseung Kwan O line is one of the eleven lines of the MTR system in Hong Kong, indicated by the colour purple. It is currently long, taking 15 minutes to travel throughout the entire line. The line runs from North Point on the Hong Kong Island to the new town of Tseung Kwan O. It bifurcates east of Tseung Kwan O station into two branches, one northward to Po Lam and one southward to LOHAS Park. The Tseung Kwan O Depot at LOHAS Park is responsible for the maintenance of the line's rolling stock. During the morning peak period, the Tseung Kwan O line uses 15 trains to maintain a frequency of 2.5 minutes between Tseung Kwan O and North Point. Tsuen Wan Line
The Tsuen Wan line is one of the eleven lines of the metro network in Hong Kong's MTR. It is indicated in red on the MTR map. There are 16 stations on the line. The southern terminus is Central station on Hong Kong Island and the northwestern terminus is Tsuen Wan station in the New Territories. A journey on the entire line takes 35 minutes. As a cross-harbour route that goes through the heart of Kowloon and densely populated Sham Shui Po and Kwai Chung, the line is very heavily travelled. MTR Urban Lines Vision Train
The MTR Urban Lines Vision Train (; also named MTR CRRC Qingdao Sifang EMU, also known as Q-Train) is a new rolling stock ordered by MTR Hong Kong in July 2015. They are expected to begin replacing all of the aging Metro-Cammell EMU (DC) trains starting at the end of 2022. The order currently consists of 744 cars (93 trainsets). This train gradually entered service in 27 November 2022. Development In conjunction with the upgrade of the existing signalling system from SACEM to Advanced SelTrac CBTC, MTR Corporation originally planned for 78 8-car trainsets to be ordered. MTR CRRC Changchun EMU
The MTR CRRC Changchun EMU (also known as the TML C-train) is a model of heavy rail electric multiple units of the Mass Transit Railway in Hong Kong. The 8-car sets are manufactured by Changchun Railway Vehicles for the East West Corridor, to operate alongside extended SP1900 sets (1151) from the West Rail line. They are currently in service on the Tuen Ma line. Description The exterior appearance of the TML C-train is similar to that of the SP1900, with the most notable differences being located at the cab ends. It is painted in the same livery as the R-trains on the East Rail line, the S-trains on the South Island line, and the future Q-trains on the urban lines. MTR Hyundai Rotem EMU
The Hyundai Rotem EMU (also known as R-Train or 1141B) () is a current model of heavy rail electric multiple units used on the Mass Transit Railway in Hong Kong. The 9-car sets are manufactured by Hyundai Rotem for the North South Corridor, an extension of the East Rail line, at a cost of HK$4 billion. 37 trainsets were ordered in December 2012 and the first delivery took place in 2015, while a further 6 trains were ordered in May 2020. Originally scheduled to enter service in late-2017 to early-2018, the trains gradually entered service from 6 February 2021. South Island Line
The South Island line, identified by light green on the MTR route map, is a rapid transit line of Hong Kong's MTR metro system. This line connects the HK business district from Admiralty station to the Southern District of Hong Kong Island and the island of Ap Lei Chau, which was not served by any rail transport prior to the opening of this line. The rolling stock of South Island line is purpose-built for driverless operation. Trains are remotely controlled from the Operations Control Centre in Tsing Yi.
