MTR CRRC Changchun EMU
The MTR CRRC Changchun EMU (also known as the TML C-train) is a model of heavy rail electric multiple units of the Mass Transit Railway in Hong Kong. The 8-car sets are manufactured by Changchun Railway Vehicles for the East West Corridor, to operate alongside extended SP1900 sets (1151) from the West Rail line. They are currently in service on the Tuen Ma line. Description The exterior appearance of the TML C-train is similar to that of the SP1900, with the most notable differences being located at the cab ends. It is painted in the same livery as the R-trains on the East Rail line, the S-trains on the South Island line, and the future Q-trains on the urban lines. The latter two were manufactured by the same company. The interior layout is essentially a facelifted version of the SP1900, including the new dynamic route map display above doorways. They are equipped with rows of 3 seats between each doorway rather than 4 seats on the SP1900; there are still 2 rows of 5 seats ...

Communications-based Train Control
Communications-based train control (CBTC) is a railway signaling system that uses telecommunications between the train and track equipment for traffic management and infrastructure control. CBTC allows a train's position to be known more accurately than with traditional signaling systems. This makes railway traffic management safer and more efficient. Metros (and other railway systems) are able to reduce headways while maintaining or even improving safety. A CBTC system is a "continuous, automatic train control system utilizing high-resolution train location determination, independent from track circuits; continuous, high-capacity, bidirectional train-to-wayside data communications; and trainborne and wayside processors capable of implementing automatic train protection (ATP) functions, as well as optional automatic train operation (ATO) and automatic train supervision (ATS) functions," as defined in the IEEE 1474 standard.1474.1–1999 – IEEE Standard for Communications-Base ...

MTR CNR Changchun EMU
The Changchun EMU or CNR Changchun EMU is an electric multiple unit train type of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. Designed and manufactured by Changchun Railway Vehicles, a member of CNR group (now merged with CSR to form CRRC), they were the first MTR heavy-rail stock to be manufactured in Mainland China, while past orders came from England, Japan, Europe or South Korea. The trains come in two versions: the C-Train, a manned eight-car train which is used mainly on the Kwun Tong line; and the S-Train, a driverless three-car variant which operates on the South Island line since its opening in December 2016. Similar trains had been ordered for the Tuen Ma line, also known as TML C-Train, which entered service on the Ma On Shan line on 12 March 2017; however, these trains bear a resemblance to the older SP1900 EMUs. History Designed in 18 months, the first C-Train rolled off the production lines at CNR's plant on 6 December 2010. It was transported to Hon ...

Livery
A livery is an identifying design, such as a uniform, ornament, symbol or insignia that designates ownership or affiliation, often found on an individual or vehicle. Livery will often have elements of the heraldry relating to the individual or corporate body feature in the livery. Alternatively, some kind of a personal emblem or badge, or a distinctive colour, is featured. The word itself derives from the French ''livrée'', meaning ''dispensed, handed over''. Most often it would indicate that the wearer of the livery was a servant, dependant, follower or friend of the owner of the livery, or, in the case of objects, that the object belonged to them. In the late medieval phenomenon of bastard feudalism, livery badges worn by the "retainers" of great lords, sometimes in effect private armies, became a great political concern in England. Etymology "In the ''Black'' Book of 1483, it was laid down that each person should receive "... for his Livery at night, half a chet loaf, o ...

Coloured magenta on the MTR map, the line ran from Tuen Mun to Hung Hom, with a total length of , in 37 minutes. The railway connected the urban area of Kowloon and the new towns of Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun in the northwestern New Territories. The line was the second of three lines built and operated by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), then known as the KCR West Rail (). It was designed to suburban rail standards similar to that of KCR's first line, now the East Rail line, anticipating freight and intercity services to Mainland China, although the latter role was ultimately superseded by the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link Hong Kong section as part of the China Railway High-speed network. After KCRC's merger of operations with the MTR Corporation on 2 December 2007, the West Rail line was ...
