Newfoundland and Labrador (; french: Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador; frequently abbreviated as NL) is the easternmost province of Canada, in the country's Atlantic region. The province comprises the island of Newfoundland and the continental region of Labrador, having a total size of 405,212 square kilometres (156,500 sq mi). In 2021, the population of Newfoundland and Labrador was estimated to be 521,758. The island of Newfoundland (and its smaller neighbouring islands) is home to around 94 per cent of the province's population, with more than half residing in the Avalon Peninsula. Grand Falls-Windsor—Buchans is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Prior to 2006, the district was Grand Falls-Buchans, while expanded slightly in all directions it took in no major municipalities. As of 2011, there are 7,450 eligible voters living within the district. In the heart of central Newfoundland. Includes part of the town of Grand Falls-Windsor to the north and stretches westward. Mount Scio
Mount Scio is a provincial electoral district in Newfoundland and Labrador. As of 2011 there are 14,482 people living in the district. Mount Scio includes part of the town of Paradise and the part of the city of St. John's. The district was created following the 2015 electoral districts boundaries review. The majority of Mount Scio was previously the district of St. John's North. The district also includes parts of the former districts of Mount Pearl North, St. John's East and Topsail. Mount Pearl North, formerly known as Waterford Valley, is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of 2011, there are 9,622 eligible voters living within the district. This suburban district includes the northern part of the city of Mount Pearl and part of the city of St. John's. The district was created in 2007 using 79 per cent of the old Waterford Valley district and smaller sections of Mount Pearl and Topsail districts. The district was reconfigured in 2015. Lake Melville is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of 2011, there are 6,647 eligible voters living within the district. The district includes Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Churchill Falls, North West River, Sheshatshiu and Mud Lake. Happy Valley-Goose Bay is a service and defence town. Aboriginal issues, defence spending, hydroelectric power and control over development of forest resources are the major issues of the district. Labrador West (electoral District)
Labrador West is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. From 1975 to 1996, the district was known as Menihek. Known as the iron ore capital of Canada with two modern mining communities, Labrador City and Wabush, the district has a strong base of labour support. This district was the first in Newfoundland and Labrador to send a New Democratic member to the House of Assembly, electing party leader Peter Fenwick in a 1984 by-election. The NDP regained the seat in 2019 election, beating the Liberals by a mere two votes and holding the riding in the 2021 general election by a twenty one point margin. Humber-Gros Morne
Humber-Gros Morne is a provincial electoral district in Newfoundland and Labrador. As of 2011 there are 12,509 people living in the district. Humber-Gros Morne includes part of the former district of St. Barbe and most of the former district of Humber Valley. The district was created following the 2015 electoral districts boundaries review. The district includes Deer Lake and surrounding communities (Howley and Reidville) as well as the southern half of the Great Northern Peninsula. Bellburns is the district's northern limit on the west side and Jackson's Arm is the northern limit on the east side.
