New York State Route 300
New York State Route 300 (NY 300) is a state highway located west of the city of Newburgh in the Hudson Valley of New York in the United States. The southern terminus of the route is at a five-way intersection with NY 32 and NY 94 in the hamlet of Vails Gate. From there, it runs generally northwesterly through the towns of New Windsor, Newburgh, and Shawangunk, to a junction with NY 208 near the hamlet of Wallkill. NY 300's two major changes of direction are marked by slightly unorthodox intersections with other state highways. Vails Gate is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 3,368 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie– Newburgh– Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York– Newark–Bridgeport, NY- NJ- CT- PA Combined Statistical Area. Vails Gate is in the southern part of the Town of New Windsor, located on Route 32. It is defined largely by the junction of that highway with Routes 94 and 300, a busy commercial center which has the ZIP code 12584. Part of that also spills into adjacent regions of the Town of Cornwall to the south. History The locale has always been referred to as a neighborhood of New Windsor. Newburgh Mall
Newburgh Mall is a regional shopping center located on New York State Route 300, NY 300 in the Newburgh (town), New York, Town of Newburgh, New York (state), New York, near where Interstate 87 (New York), Interstate 87 (the New York State Thruway) intersects with Interstate 84 (east), Interstate 84. It was opened in 1980 by Kravco property management (later Kravco Simon), which owns King of Prussia (mall), King of Prussia Mall outside Philadelphia. The mall has 46 stores and the only anchor store is Office Depot. Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., Bed Bath & Beyond was a former anchor of the mall but the brand had seen a steep decline in recent years. In early 2023 this led to the closure of many of their stores in New York state, including the Newburgh Mall location. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that was once Sears and The Bon-Ton. New York State Route 52
New York State Route 52 (NY 52) is a state highway in the southeastern part of the state. It generally runs from west to east through five counties, beginning at the Pennsylvania state line in the Delaware River near Narrowsburg, crossing the Hudson River on the Newburgh–Beacon Bridge, and ending in Carmel. NY 52 and NY 55, both major east–west routes of the Mid-Hudson Region, run parallel to each other, intersecting in downtown Liberty. New York State Route 17K
New York State Route 17K (NY 17K) is an east–west state highway located within Orange County, New York, in the United States. It extends for from an intersection with NY 17 east of Bloomingburg to a junction with U.S. Route 9W (US 9W) midway across the city of Newburgh. The western terminus was where NY 17K originally connected to its parent route, NY 17; it now meets NY 17 a short distance to the east at an interchange with the Quickway. In Newburgh, NY 17K becomes Broadway and serves as the city's primary east–west street. Goshen (village), New York
Goshen is a village in and the county seat of Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 5,777 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown metropolitan area as well as the larger New York metropolitan area. The village is within the town of Goshen, some fifty miles northwest of New York City, on New York State Route 17 in the center of Orange County. Goshen is the home of the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, and hosted harness racing's top event, the Hambletonian, from 1930 to 1956, at the former Good Time Park. James "Squire" Patton House
The James "Squire" Patton House is located along the brief overlap of NY 207 and 300 in New Windsor, New York, United States. It is on a five-acre (2 ha) parcel owned by the nearby city of Newburgh, formerly used for police K-9 training. The house now sits abandoned and in a state of decay. It was built in 1790, although it is not known by whom. Patton, a prominent local farmer and landowner, bought the property as a young man a quarter-century later. It assumed its present form after several additions and renovations in the first 40 years of its existence. In 2008 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
