New York Open (tennis)
The New York Open was an Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP indoor hard court tennis tournament held in Uniondale, New York, United States. The event took place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The tournament was created in 2018 to replace the Memphis Open (tennis), Memphis Open, which was canceled due to lack of sponsorship. It was described as "home of the black court", despite the court colour being patently grey. In 2022, the tournament was moved to Dallas, Texas, and rechristened the Dallas Open (2022), Dallas Open. Uniondale, New York
Uniondale is a census-designated place (CDP), as well as a suburb in Nassau County, New York, Nassau County, New York (state), New York, on Long Island, in the Town of Hempstead, New York, Town of Hempstead. The population was 32,473 at the 2020 United States Census. Uniondale is home to Hofstra University's north campus, as well as a portion of its southern campus. The community unsuccessfully tried incorporating itself as a village in the 1970s. History In the early 1970s, Uniondale residents attempted to incorporate their hamlet as a village, citing dissatisfaction with the way their community was being represented on policy board of the committee for redeveloping Mitchel Air Force Base, Mitchel Field. Their plans were unsuccessful, and Uniondale remains an unincorporated hamlet governed by the Town of Hempstead. Santiago González (tennis)
Santiago González Torre (; born 24 February 1983) is a Mexican professional tennis player. His career-high ATP ranking is World No. 155 in singles, achieved in May 2006, and World No. 22 in doubles, achieved in March 2022. He has won 18 ATP doubles titles. Andreas Mies
Andreas Mies (; born 21 August 1990) is a German professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the French Open doubles title in both 2019 and 2020 alongside compatriot Kevin Krawietz. The pair also reached the semifinals at the 2019 US Open and qualified for the 2019 and 2020 ATP Finals. Mies reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 8 on 4 November 2019, and has won five doubles titles on the ATP Tour. Kevin Krawietz (born 24 January 1992) is a German professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the French Open doubles title in both 2019 and 2020 alongside compatriot Andreas Mies. The pair were also semifinalists at the 2019 US Open. Krawietz reached the mixed doubles semifinals at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships and 2022 French Open, partnering Květa Peschke and Nicole Melichar-Martinez respectively, and has qualified for the ATP Finals on three occasions. Artem Yurievich Sitak ( ; russian: Артём Юрьевич Ситак, Artyom Sitak; born 8 February 1986) is a Russian-born New Zealand professional tennis player. Wesley Koolhof (; born 17 April 1989) is a Dutch professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He achieved his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 1 in doubles on 7 November 2022. He has won 14 doubles titles on the ATP Tour, most notably the 2020 ATP Finals with Mektić, the 2022 Madrid Masters, the 2022 Canadian Open and the 2022 Paris Masters partnering Neal Skupski.
