Atlantic Standard Time Zone
The Atlantic Time Zone is a geographical region that keeps standard time—called Atlantic Standard Time (AST)—by subtracting four hours from Coordinated Universal Time ( UTC), resulting in UTC−04:00. AST is observed in parts of North America and some Caribbean islands. During part of the year, some portions of the zone observe daylight saving time, referred to as Atlantic Daylight Time (ADT), by moving their clocks forward one hour to result in UTC−03:00. The clock time in this zone is based on the mean solar time of the 60th meridian west of the Greenwich Observatory. In Canada, the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island are in this zone, though legally they calculate time specifically as an offset of four hours from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT–4) rather than from UTC. Small portions of Quebec (eastern Côte-Nord and the Magdalen Islands) also observe Atlantic Time. Officially, the entirety of Newfoundland and Labrador observes Newfoundland Stand ...

Heron Island (New Brunswick)
Heron Island is a formerly inhabited long island in Chaleur Bay, located approximately 4 km from New Mills, New Brunswick and across from Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec. It is accessible only at high tide from a wharf on the south side of the island. Today the island has been declared a provincial reserve and is under the care of the New Brunswick government . There is a native traditional burial ground near the northwest end of the island. History Abbé Joseph-Mathurin Bourg (practising in Carleton), first Acadian priest, was given the island and the land now called Charlo by Sir Richard Hughes, 2nd Baronet, Governor (on file in Louisbourg), in the capital, Halifax in thanks for his mediation efforts between the Mi'gmaks and the white settlers. However, he was too busy with his congregation work and never took possession. The deed was withdrawn and the island made available to loyalist settlers. The Mi'kmaq called the island ''těsǔnǔgěk'', but no longer resided on the isl ...

Area Code 506
Area is the quantity that expresses the extent of a region on the plane or on a curved surface. The area of a plane region or ''plane area'' refers to the area of a shape or planar lamina, while ''surface area'' refers to the area of an open surface or the boundary of a three-dimensional object. Area can be understood as the amount of material with a given thickness that would be necessary to fashion a model of the shape, or the amount of paint necessary to cover the surface with a single coat. It is the two-dimensional analogue of the length of a curve (a one-dimensional concept) or the volume of a solid (a three-dimensional concept). The area of a shape can be measured by comparing the shape to squares of a fixed size. In the International System of Units (SI), the standard unit of area is the square metre (written as m2), which is the area of a square whose sides are one metre long. A shape with an area of three square metres would have the same area as three such squares. ...

Local Service District (New Brunswick)
A local service district (LSD) is a provincial administrative unit for the provision of local services in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. LSDs relate to areas of the province's former county municipalities that were not incorporated as municipalities around centres of population. They are defined in law by the ''Local Service Districts Regulation'' of the ''Municipalities Act''. In 2017, the ''Municipalities Act'' was replaced by the ''Local Governance Act'', which continued the ''Local Service Districts Regulation''. LSDs are operated by provincial staff. Residents have the opportunity to serve in an advisory capacity to provincial staff. As management units collectively referred to as unincorporated areas, application of the LSD concept has evolved to fit changes in communities over time, and they define their communities to varying degrees. For example, sub-units of the LSD make it possible to have separate taxing units within a LSD where one area may have grown to ha ...
