New Delhi (1987 Film)
''New Delhi'' is a 1987 Malayalam language neo-noir action thriller film written by Dennis Joseph and directed by Joshiy and produced by Joy Thomas. It stars Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Thiagarajan, Sumalatha, Urvashi, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Mohan Jose, Devan, and Jagannatha Varma. The film was remade and released in Telugu as '' Anthima Theerpu'', which was directed by Joshiy himself. Joshiy also directed the Hindi and Kannada versions titled ''New Delhi''. Lead roles were played by Jeetendra in its Hindi version and Ambareesh in the Kannada version, respectively, Gopi made his debuts in the Telugu, Kannada and Hindi film Industries through the remakes in those languages but he played different roles. Joshiy (born 18 July 1952) is an Indian film director and producer from Varkala in Kerala who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut with ''Tiger Salim'' (1978) and has directed over 80 films. He has also directed a few Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. In the beginning of his career, he received national fame when he directed '' Dharm Aur Qanoon'' (1984) starring Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra, with Khanna in double roles. Irving Wallace (March 19, 1916 – June 29, 1990) was an American best-selling author and screenwriter. He was known for his heavily researched novels, many with a sexual theme.
