New Brunswick School District 06
School District 06 is a defunct Canadian school district in New Brunswick. It was an Anglophone district operating 27 public schools (gr. K-12) in Kings and part of Queens Counties. In 2012 it was amalgamated into Anglophone South School District. Enrollment was approximately 10,300 students with 650 teachers. District 06 was headquartered in Rothesay. Rothesay Netherwood School is an Atlantic Canadian, independent day and boarding university-preparatory school for grades 6-12 located in Rothesay, New Brunswick, a suburb of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Macdonald Consolidated School (New Brunswick)
Macdonald Consolidated School was established in 1904 as a model school for Ontario through the sponsorship of Sir William Macdonald, a Montréal tobacco manufacturer and philanthropist. Macdonald was an advocate for the consolidated school movement, which involved closing small rural schools and amalgamating them into one large school. The school's first students travelled by horse-drawn van and benefited from qualified teachers and an expanded curriculum that included nature study, manual training and domestic science.
