Route 905 is a long north to south secondary highway in the southern portion of New Brunswick, Canada. Route description The route is in Westmorland County and Albert County. The route's northern terminus is in Three Rivers at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 106. It travels southeast through a mostly treed area then turns south following the Pollett River passing through Pollett River. The route continues south ending in Elgin at Route 895. Three Rivers, New Brunswick
Three Rivers is a village in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. It was formed through the 2023 New Brunswick local governance reforms. It encompasses the former village of Petitcodiac. The Community of Three Rivers includes Elgin Centre, Elgin Parish, areas north of Petiticodiac and a small portion of Salisbury. History Three Rivers was incorporated on January 1, 2023. Present day The Community Centres around Route 890, Route 885, Route 905, Route 106 and Route 1. The village features a regional school, an outdoor swimming pool, an arena, a bowling alley, as well as several family-owned shops and churches servicing the surrounding area. Elgin, New Brunswick
Elgin is a Canadian rural community in Albert County, New Brunswick. It is situated in the western part of the county, approximately 14 kilometres south of Petitcodiac around the intersection of Route 905, and Route 895 Elgin's economy is centred on agriculture and forestry, including dairy and beef production, as well as maple sugar and wild blueberry production. History The first European to settle in the Elgin area was John Geldart, Junior in c. 1806, the eldest son of John Geldart, the Yorkshire settler. Upon his arrival at the Pollett River, the land had extremely dense forest. He and other settlers constructed the first roads, although First Nations' paths existed. The community was named after James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin who was the Governor of the United Province of Canada. Westmorland County (2016 population: 149,623) is a county in New Brunswick, a province of Canada. It is in the south-eastern part of the province. It contains the fast-growing commercial centre of Moncton and its northern and eastern suburbs. Also located in the county are the university town of Sackville and the tourist destination of Shediac. Westmorland County is centrally located in the Maritimes and is New Brunswick's most populous county. Albert County (2016 population 29,158) is New Brunswick's third-youngest county located on the Western side of the Petitcodiac River on the Chignecto Bay in the Bay of Fundy. Prior to the abolition of county government in 1967, the shire town was Hopewell Cape. Route 1 is a highway in the southern part of the Canadian province of New Brunswick. It begins in the west from the Canada–United States border at St. Stephen, and runs east for to Route 2 at River Glade. The entire highway is a 4-lane controlled-access freeway (from the Maine border to River Glade). It is one of the most important highways in the province, carrying traffic from the American border, through the City of Saint John (the industrial seat of the province and the oldest city in the country), to the highways end at the interchange with the Trans Canada Highway, just outside of Moncton. Route 106 is a highway in New Brunswick, Canada; running from an intersection with Route 1 and western intersection in Route 905 in Petitcodiac to the intersection of Trans-Canada Highway (Route 2) and the southern terminus of Route 940 at Sackville; a distance of 91.8 kilometres. From Petitcodiac, Route 106 is known as the "Old Post road" and crosses the river to the passing the eastern terminus of Route 885 to the north bank of the Petitcodiac River. From here, the route turns north east, traveling through Petitcodiac East, crossing Route 1 at exit 239 in River Glade and continuing to Salisbury where it briefly merges with Route 112. It follows a river and travels southeast to Price, Synton, Colpitts Settlements, Little River, and Parkindale. The route then turns southeast through Forest Hill and Pleasant Vale and it passes Gowland Mountain. It continues through Mapleton to the southern terminus of Route 905.
