New Brunswick Route 640
Route 640 is a long mostly north–south secondary highway in the southwestern portion of New Brunswick, Canada. Most of the route is in Prince William Parish. The route starts at Route 102 in Fredericton where it is known as ''Hanwell Road''. It passes Odell Park and travels southwest to exit 3 on Route 8. The road then travels across Route 2 at exit 281 as it enters Hanwell. The route passes The Hanwell Recreational Park. Mazzerolle Settlement Road provides access between Route 640 and Route 2 (at exit 271) and access to Kingsclear. The route passes Yoho Lake as it enters Yoho, and it then crosses a branch of Jewetts Cove before entering Hurley Corner. New Brunswick Route 3
Route 3 is 92 kilometres long and goes from Route 170 in St. Stephen to Route 2 (the Trans-Canada Highway) at Longs Creek, near Fredericton. From St. Stephen, Route 3 goes north along the west bank of Dennis Stream, through the community of Moores Mills. The road turns northeast through Lawrence Station and mostly uninhabited land to meet Route 4 near York Mills. From there, Route 3 continues in a northeasterly direction through Harvey Station, then turns north to the Trans-Canada Highway at Longs Creek. There have been no major changes or realignments to Route 3 since the 1950s. Hanwell, New Brunswick
Hanwell is an incorporated rural community and former local service district within Kingsclear Parish in York County, New Brunswick, Canada. It is located on Route 640 immediately southwest of Fredericton. On 1 January 2023, Hanwell annexed the northern part the local service district of the parish of Kingsclear, including the communities of French Village, Island View, and Mazerolle Settlement; the annexed communities' names remain in official use. Revised census figures have not been released. History Hanwell was named by Thomas Baillie, who was born at Hanwell, West London, England. Baillie brought Irish immigrants over to settle in the area in 1825. Originally a local service district (LSD) and a farming community, two residential subdivisions were constructed in Hanwell in the 1970s. Route 2 is a major provincial highway in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, carrying the main route of the Trans-Canada Highway in the province. The highway connects with Autoroute 85 at the border with Quebec and Highway 104 at the border with Nova Scotia, as well as with traffic from Interstate 95 in the U.S. state of Maine via the short Route 95 connector. A core route in the National Highway System, Route 2 is a four-lane freeway in its entirety, and directly serves the cities of Edmundston, Fredericton, and Moncton. A 20-year project to replace the original 1960s-era two-lane Trans-Canada Highway with a four-lane freeway was completed on November 1, 2007. New Brunswick Route 8
New Brunswick Route 8 is a major highway in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. It is long and connects Fredericton to the south with Miramichi and Bathurst to the north. Route description Route 8 begins at Trans-Canada Highway 2 in Fredericton. It uses the old alignment of the TCH between there and Route 7 before heading north on the Princess Margaret Bridge. After a roundabout with Route 105, Route 8 becomes a two-lane limited access highway. First named the Barkers Point Bypass, it becomes the Marysville Bypass following the intersection with Route 10.
