Route 636 is a long mostly north–south secondary highway in the southwestern portion of New Brunswick, Canada. Most of the route is in Prince William Parish. The route starts at Route 635 in Lake George where it travels south past Lake George. From there, it travels through a sparsely populated area past Lake Harvey before ending in Harvey Station at Route 3. Lake George is a Canadian rural community in York County, New Brunswick at the intersection of Route 635 and the northern terminus of Route 636. The community is located 45 kilometres (km) west of the city of Fredericton, and is named after Lake George. Although Lake George has some year-round residents who live and work in the community or the nearby village of Harvey Station, its population increases substantially during the summer months when seasonal cottages are occupied. Harvey is a formerly incorporated village in York County, New Brunswick, York County, in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of New Brunswick. It is often called Harvey Station. Situated at the southeastern end of Harvey Lake, the village is approximately 35 km southwest of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Fredericton. The lake was originally known as Bear Lake, then for a time as Big Cranberry Lake, and finally after 1869, as Harvey Lake, when the community that eventually would become Harvey Station was established at the intersection of the "Great Road" and the newly built railway line (see below). Prince William is a civil parish in York County, New Brunswick, Canada. Prior to the 2023 governance reform, for governance purposes it formed the local service district of the parish of Prince William, which was a member of Regional Service Commission 11 (RSC11). Origin of name The parish is named in honour of Prince William, patron of the King's American Dragoons who settled the area. History Prince William was erected in 1786 as one of the county's original parishes. It extended as far inland as the rear line of Kingsclear Parish, which was twelve miles from the Saint John River, and well as any islands in front of it in the river. In 1833 the western part of Prince William was included in the newly erected Dumfries Parish. In 1847 four islands were transferred to Queensbury Parish. Route 635 is a long mostly north–south secondary highway in the southwestern portion of New Brunswick, Canada. Most of the route is in Prince William Parish. The route starts at Route 102 near Kings Landing in Lower Prince William where it is known as ''Prince William Road''. It travels west and crosses Route 2 at exit 253. From there, it travels through a sparsely populated area past Lake George, Donnelly Settlement, and Lake George. It intersects with the northern terminus of Route 636 before continuing through Magundy, Blaney Ridge, Magaguadavic and Prince William Station.
