Route 435 is a long mostly North–South secondary highway in the northwest portion of New Brunswick, Canada. The route's southern terminus starts at the northern bank of the Miramichi River on Route 425 in the community of Whitney. The road continues north through a mostly treed area before taking a sharp east turn where it passes through the community of Maple Glen. The road then continues north again through a mostly treed area ending at the intersection near the community of Chaplin Island Road. The Ministry (government department), Department of Transportation is a part of the Government of New Brunswick. It is charged with the maintenance of the provincial highway network and the management of the province's automobile fleet. The department was established in 1967 when Premier of New Brunswick, Premier Louis Robichaud split the Department of Public Works and Highways (New Brunswick), Department of Public Works and Highways. New Brunswick (french: Nouveau-Brunswick, , locally ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is one of the three Maritime provinces and one of the four Atlantic provinces. It is the only province with both English and French as its official languages. Miramichi River
The Miramichi River is a river located in the east-central part of New Brunswick, Canada. The river drains into Miramichi Bay in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The name may have been derived from the Montagnais words "Maissimeu Assi" (meaning Mi'kmaq Land), and it is today the namesake of the Miramichi Herald at the Canadian Heraldic Authority. Geography The Miramichi River watershed drains a territory comprising one-quarter of New Brunswick's territory, measuring approximately 13,000 km² of which 300 km² is an estuarine environment on the inner part of Miramichi Bay. The watershed roughly corresponds to Northumberland County, but also includes sections of Victoria County, Carleton County, and York County and smaller parts of Gloucester County and Sunbury County. Route 425 is a long mostly west–east secondary highway in the northwest portion of New Brunswick, Canada. The route's Eastern terminus starts on Route 420 in Red Bank immediately crossing the Southwest Miramichi River to the north bank, passing Tozers Island. The road travels west passing through the community of Sunny Corner then the community of Boom Road, and Whitney. The Road then Intersects with Route 435 before entering the community of Strathadam. The route then passes by McKay Cove then the community of Eel Ground before entering community of Jones Crossing in the city of Miramichi The name "Miramichi" was first applied to a region in the northeast of New Brunswick, Canada, and has since been applied to other places in Canada and the United States.
