Nevin Çokay
Nevin Çokay (born 1930-July 24, 2012) was a Turkish painter and high school teacher of art and history of art. Life Çokay was born in Istanbul, and spent her childhood in different regions of Turkey. In 1947, she started to attend to the studio of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu at the Academy of Fine Arts Istanbul, where she finished in 1953. She also joined The Group Ten. Her first exhibition took place in the Gallery "Maya" in Istanbul in 1953. Between 1950 and 1953 she was a member of the State Choir for Turkish folk music under the direction of Nedim Otyam. Beside her participation in concerts and folklore arrangements she also worked as a voice artist and acted in the film ''Yurda Dönüş''. After 1954 Çokay completely devoted herself to painting. Nevin Yanıt (born February 16, 1986) is a Turkish former sprinter specializing in high hurdling. On 29 August 2013, Yanit was banned from athletic competition for two years following a failed doping test in February 2013. After IAAF appealed the length of the ban to the Court of Arbitration for sport, her ban was extended for a further year. Biography Yanıt won the 100m hurdles at the 2007 European Under 23 Athletics Championships. She won the silver medal at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, she reached the semi-finals in the 100m hurdles. Yanıt participated at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy and won the gold medal in women's 100 m hurdles. Nevin Saroya (born 15 September 1980, in Hillingdon) is a retired Thai-English semi-professional footballer. He made one appearance in the Football League for Brentford. Saroya also played for non-League clubs Hampton & Richmond Borough, Yeading, Hayes & Yeading United, Godalming Town and Maidenhead United. He also had a spell with Brisbane Premier League club Redlands United. Nevin Spence (26 April 199015 September 2012) was a Northern Ireland-born Irish rugby union player for Ulster in the Pro12. He played as a Centre, but could also play Wing. He was educated firstly at Dromore High School, where he was introduced to rugby, and then at Wallace High School. He played his club rugby with Ballynahinch. He was also a capable footballer, playing for the Northern Ireland U-16's. Club career Nevin rose to prominence at Ballynahinch during the hugely successful 2009/10 season. The club won the Ulster Senior League, Cup, AIL Division 2 and All-Ireland Cup all in a single season. Nevin was also a member of the Ulster Rugby Academy. Nevin Harrison (born June 2, 2002) is an American sprint canoeist. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, winning the gold medal in the women's C-1 200 meters. Career She began canoeing at age 12 with the Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club in Seattle, Washington. She began competing for the USA at age 15, competing at the 2017 ICF Olympic Hopes Regatta in Račice, Czech Republic, winning silver in C-1 1000m, gold in 500m and gold in 200m in the 2002 age group. The next year, at the 2018 ICF Olympic Hopes Regatta in Poznan, Poland, she won gold in C-1 500m and 200m in the 2002 age group. Nefyn
Nefyn (, archaically anglicised as Nevin) is both a small town and a community on the northwest coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, Gwynedd, Wales. Nefyn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach, and has one substantial hotel. The A497 road terminates in the town centre. The community includes Edern and Morfa Nefyn. In 2011, the population was 2,602, with Nefyn itself having 1,373 people. History The history of the area can be traced back to 300 BC with the Iron Age hillfort of Garn Boduan overlooking Nefyn.
