Neville Coleman
Neville Coleman OAM (1938 - 4 May 2012) was an Australian naturalist, underwater nature photographer, writer, publisher and educator. Coleman started scuba diving in 1963, exploring Sydney Harbour. Later he joined a scientific study group and, in 1969, commenced a project aiming to document the entire marine life of Australia, using underwater photography. His first book, ''Australian marine fishes in colour'', was published in 1974 and he subsequently authored more than 50 books. His books included various texts for scuba divers, shell collectors, amateur naturalists and children, and typically took the forms of field guides, encyclopedias and dive guides. Departures included a collaboration with a poet and CD-ROM companions to printed publications, which included video clips of marine species. Order Of Australia
The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. Before the establishment of the order, Australian citizens received British honours. The Monarch of Australia is sovereign head of the order, while the Governor-General of Australia is the principal companion/dame/knight (as relevant at the time) and chancellor of the order. Coleman's pygmy seahorse (''Hippocampus colemani'') is a species of fish of the family Syngnathidae. It is found off of the coast of Lord Howe Island, Australia, although unconfirmed occurrences have been reported from Milne Bay and the Ryukyu Islands. Kevin Ernest Weldon (born 1933) is an Australian book publisher, businessman, philanthropist and supporter of the lifesaving movement. He is best known for book publishing, firstly for the Paul Hamlyn Group, and later for his own publishing company. He is a founder of Earthwatch Australia, a voluntary organisation supporting scientific research expeditions. He has served on a variety of committees and boards, including Powerhouse Museum (Sydney) and the Institute of Aboriginal Studies (Canberra). He is the founding president of the World Lifesaving and International Life Saving Federation, a member of the President's Board of National Council of Surf Lifesaving Association of Australia. Mark O'Connor (born 19 March 1945 in Melbourne) is an Australian poet, writer, and environmental activist. He is the author of twelve books of poetry on regions of Australia such as the Great Barrier Reef and the Blue Mountains, often collaborating with renowned nature photographers. He has also written two books on the issue of overpopulation, ''This Tired Brown Land'' (1998) and, more recently, ''Overloading Australia'' (2008, co-written by William J. Lines).
