Never Say Die (memoir)
''Never Say Die'' is a memoir by Jack Hawkins, a lieutenant with the United States's 4th Marines in World War II. It was first published in 1961. The book relates Hawkins' experiences as a prisoner of war in Japanese prison camps after the American surrender in the Philippines. Full Book Summary Long, careful and very secret planning was involved for this hazardous venture. Here is a list of some articles which had to be procured, taken out the gate, and stashed away in a safe place in the jungle, to be available at the appointed time: compass, sextant, chronometer, navigation tables, protractor, dividers, chart of the Southwest Pacific, pencils. Some of these items had to be hand-made. Each man had to have a change of clothing, blanket, shelter tent, mosquito net, canteen, mess kit, and food for five days. The Undead
The Undead is an American horror punk band formed in 1980 in New York City's East Village by Bobby Steele (vocals and guitar), Chris "Jack" Natz (bass) and Patrick Blanck (drums). They were one of the pioneers in the New York hardcore scene. History Steele (then of the Misfits) and Natz had been playing with drummer Richie Matalia as a side project called the Skabs. When Matalia departed and Steele left the Misfits, the trio of Steele, Natz and Patrick Blanck formed the Undead in October 1980. In June 1982, the Undead released their first EP, '' 9 Toes Later'', and were featured on the ROIR ''New York Thrash'' compilation. A few months later Natz and Blanck left the band; Natz later played in Virus, the Blacksnakes and Cop Shoot Cop. They were replaced by Brian "Payne" Aliano on bass and Bobby Savage on drums, and this lineup released the "Verbal Abuse" single in 1983. ''Reign of Terror'' is the second studio album by American noise pop duo Sleigh Bells. The album was released on February 21, 2012 by Mom+Pop. Following the critical success of their debut album '' Treats (album), Treats'', Sleigh Bells started writing new material for their next album while on tour for their debut album, and recorded it over the course of five months in 2011. While ''Treats'' used a mixture of guitars and beats that eschewed pop song structures for their overall sound, ''Reign of Terror'' emphasized more guitar sounds that follow structures with emotionally heavy lyrics. "Poolie Pride" is a single (music), single released by the Monkey Hangerz in 2005, a group of Hartlepool United fan (person), fans. The single contained three tracks: "Two Little Boys", "Never Say Die" and "Hartlepool and the Monkey". The single was organised by a group of Hartlepool United fans led by John McQue, who co-organised the project, and Phil Dunn who arranged the musical aspects of the gramophone record, record. The Monkey Hangerz achieved a Top 40, Top 30 hit record, hit in the UK Singles Chart independently of any record label or distribution company. It also reached number 8 in the UK Indie Chart. The idea was born after 'Pools' appeared in the Football League One play-off final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff; the idea was thought of on a Hartlepool fan forum and the project took off from there.
